(Oceanside, CA, January 25, 2007) – RJ’s Word Processing Services is now offering transcription services for both digital and micro-cassette recordings.
Five years ago, Rita Cartwright started her home-based business located in Oceanside, California. With numerous years of word processing experience, she decided to offer virtual word processing services. These services include word processing, database management, PowerPoint presentations, desktop publishing, website maintenance, and administrative assistance. Now she is pleased to add transcription services to her current list of services.
When Rita decided to offer her services virtually, she didn’t realize there was a Virtual Assistant industry. Virtual Assistant Networking Association (VANA) definition of a Virtual Assistant is "A Virtual Assistant (substitute VA or Virtual Associate) works independently at an arm’s length, via the Internet, utilizing the latest technologies, to provide immediate professional support, services and skills to busy entrepreneurs and business managers. Partnering with a VA reduces stress, protects cash flow, eliminates administrative hassles, and enables business people to find the success they originally set out to achieve."
Virtual assistants became popular in the mid-90s because of technology and
the Internet. Technology and the Internet have allowed entrepreneurs, small
business owners, and work-at-home moms to establish home-based businesses offering
various products and services, including virtual assistance.
“It is very exciting to be part of the Virtual Assistant industry,”
says Rita, “the business world, both nationally and internationally, is
starting to recognize us (virtual assistants) as professional business owners.”

Rita Cartwright is currently a member of Virtual Assistant Networking Association (VANA) and International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA).
Australian Woman starts business 34 weeks pregnant with third child, My one year anniversary
“I honestly don’t know what I was thinking when I answered the advertisement,” says Short. “I just knew I needed a challenge. I never expected to go into business when I replied to the ad. The employer took one look at my large pregnant belly at the time and offered it to me on a sub-contract basis so I could work from home and still be with my children. It was the perfect solution for me.”
Ms Short knew she wasn’t the only one working from home completing administrative tasks for other business owners, so she began a quest for knowledge and found the Virtual Assistant industry. Virtual Assistants are self-employed business owners who provide administrative and consulting services to their clients on a virtual or off-site basis.
Many entrepreneurs and small business owners wear ALL the hats in their business and have ALL the responsibility. Not only are they the bookkeeper, they are also the sales person, administrative manager and business owner. Wearing all these hats can limit a business in its growth and ability to service customers. Some businesses are unable to afford a full time assistant or provide the necessary technology and training for an assistant, never mind setting aside the office space.
This is where a Virtual Assistant is a perfect match. Not only are Virtual Assistants business owners themselves, but they are able to take on the tasks you don’t have the skills, time or inclination to do. They can do it efficiently and proficiently, adding to your business’s professional image. You only pay for time spent on task and you can even contract a Virtual Assistant to work on a project basis, as you need them.
“Since finding the Virtual Assistant industry and discovering it has been around since 1996 in Australia, I knew it was important to learn as much as I could about this exciting way to work and do business,” says Ms Short. “I joined a number of online forums including Virtual Assistant forums and business forums. As a result, I now have access to other Virtual Assistants who have skill sets in various areas that complement my own and I am able to stay up to date with current trends in technology. I am thoroughly enjoying myself and the bonus is I get to stay at home with my children. I have also learnt so much about having an online business.”

Cyberspace Plus Technology Equals the Virtual Assistant
A virtual assistant’s vast knowledge of the internet allows business owners to expand and market their company all over the globe and empowers those businesses with specialized tools to help their company prosper and grow. By hiring a VA, the owner will be able to better manage his time and give their clients the personal touch they deserve.
Four things VAs can do for growing businesses are:
• Internet Research. VAs can research a particular business market to
give that business the leading edge over its competitors.
• Design new and innovative marketing tools. VAs can take a current newsletter
or brochure, give it a new design and send it out to existing clients.
• Blog Creation. VAs can create and update those highly popular company
blogs that are sure to bring new clients to that site.
• Article submissions. VAs are instrumental in sending out articles to
the right target market and thus getting clients more exposure for their products
with the people who would be interested in buying them.
Finding the right VA is now the key to success for most businesses. As Diana Ennen, co-author of Virtual Assistant-The Series: Become a Highly Successful, Sought After VA (http://www.VA-TheSeries.com) states, “With today’s virtual assistants having extensive training and knowledge of the Internet and how to help businesses succeed, more and more businesses are looking for qualified VAs to help them. But it’s important to find the right VA. Businesses should look for one that has the unique skills you are looking for and also will offer the right professionalism to your business.”
One such Virtual Assistant Business, Innovative Virtual Creations (IVC), located in the small town of Franklin, Louisiana, does all the above and more. Jeannine Bertrand, founder of IVC, started her company with more than 16 years of computer knowledge and vast newspaper experience. Bertrand is devoted to helping businesses create better marketing pieces and get more exposure for their business with her professional skills and experiences.

Mann Made Time & Signature Worx Form Partnership
"I am very excited to announce this new partnership," remarks Jaime Lee Mann, owner of Mann Made Time" as it allows us to better serve existing and future clients by providing high quality graphic design at a competitive price along with our extensive administrative support services."
While Signature Worx, a Virtual Assistant company based in Brandon, Mississippi, will provide graphic and web design to Island businesses, Mann Made Time will provide Real Estate Agent support services to agents in Mississippi. Of course, since all work is done remotely, services can be provided across North America and even overseas, wherever a client has an internet connection. Best of all, clients only need to deal with one company as project management of all tasks will be handled by Mann Made Time.
"As I begin to build my team," states Mann, "it is very important that team members share the same quality of work and high standards of client satisfaction that I do. Connie McVicker, founder and owner of Signature Worx, is the perfect fit to partner with Mann Made Time. Not only is she a gifted designer, she strives to provide the best possible service and that is absolutely imperative."
The pair met through online networking at the Virtual Assistant Revolution (http://www.VirtualAssistantRevolution.com), a forum where Mann and McVicker are both active members. After contacting a few different companies to inquire about logo design and receiving no responses, Mann decided to employ the services of McVicker. "Connie comes highly recommended in the industry," says Mann, "and I am very glad that I hired her. I was so pleased with my logo that I asked her design my business cards and website."
McVicker remarked, "After speaking with Jaime frequently regarding her projects, it was apparent her attention to detail and core business principles were inline with the way I have built my business. I, in return, hired Jaime to take care of several business forms I needed prepared. I was amazed by the finished product with the little information I provided her. I use these forms almost daily for new and prospective clients."
During a consultation with a potential client requiring real estate agent support and a new website, Mann recommended the services of Signature Worx for his web design needs. A new partnership was born. Mann and McVicker have been in collaboration ever since finalizing the details.
From now through the month of September, Mann Made Time and Signature Worx, LLC is offering a 15% discount to Islanders on any new creative design service or package. For more information about Jaime Mann and Mann Made Time, visit http://www.MannMadeTime.com where you can view their extensive list of administrative services, real estate support, and creative design solutions. Margate, FL (September 2006): The momentum for college-level virtual assistant training programs is building across the U.S. and into Canada. With the rise in popularity for becoming a successful virtual assistant, colleges are recognizing the unique value of adding this type of training to their curriculum.
The textbooks of choice for these college training courses are two highly popular books specializing in VA training: Virtual Assistant – The Series: Become a Highly Sought After VA and Virtual Assistant – The Series: Workbook Edition, written by Diana Ennen and Kelly Poelker (Another 8 Hours Publishing). Combined, these books offer a step-by-step approach on how to start a VA business.
Since August 2004 Red Deer College’s VA Certification Program in Canada and other higher level learning organizations and colleges have been using Virtual Assistant – The Series to train their students. With a newly published Workbook Edition, a new dimension is added, allowing students to proceed step by step through the book. The workbook is used with the manual to help students set up their business along the way.
“The students find the workbook invaluable,” says Randi Tucker Hart, instructor at Raymond Walters College at the University of Cincinnati. “The content flows right along with the textbook, making it comprehensive, clear and easy to complete the process.” And several students have said the Business Disaster Plan section alone is worth the price of the Virtual Assistant –The Series bundle which includes the manual and the workbook.
For virtual assistants who have the manual, they find the workbook is an added touch that allows for documenting their business startup as they read through the instruction of the main manual. Together they are a must for the seasoned virtual assistants who want to take their businesses to the next level.

Revised (ISBN #0-9742790-5-6) is available at Amazon, Borders and online bookstores

NBC Today Show Showcases Colorado Virtual Assistant
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Karen L. Reddick, MVA
Tel: (720) 870-6435
E-mail: Karen@VandEServices.com
Website: http://www.vandeservices.com
CENTENNIAL, CO (April 2007) – Six years ago if anyone had told Karen Reddick that the growing industry she has been working hard to promote would finally receive its day in the limelight with a segment on the NBC Today Show, she wouldn’t have believed it. It’s a dream come true to see the industry she is passionate about get national attention. Reddick is a Virtual Assistant (VA) who helps small businesses successfully run their businesses virtually from her home office. When an NBC correspondent got wind that there was such a business, they became intrigued and decided to pursue the story. NBC flew to Reddick’s home office in Centennial to film a typical day at the office. They also set up a crew at one of Reddick’s client’s office 850 miles away in the St. Louis area to show how easy and efficient working with a VA can be. The piece is scheduled to air in May.
Reddick, owner of V-And-E Services, is a former executive assistant and originally conceived the idea for her business in October 2001 immediately following 9/11. Starting her new career was her way to put family first and be home for her then pre-teenage daughter. Reddick helps clients by working remotely and uses the latest technology to deliver creative administrative support and technical business services to busy professionals. Projects are often handled over the phone, by fax, e-mail and instant messaging.
Most attractive to her clients is perhaps the fact that Virtual Assistants are responsible for their own taxes, training, healthcare, insurance, and overhead costs that make hiring an in-house employee expensive. Reddick states, “My clients pay only for the time actually spent working on their projects. They don’t pay for my coffee breaks, visits to colleagues or other things that happen in a normal office environment. This is a great benefit for them to pay on an as-needed basis.”
Reddick is also the author of The A-Z Guide: The Best Ways to Work With a Virtual
Assistant, which shows businesses exactly what a VA can do for them. In her
A-Z Guide, Reddick starts with the letter A and highlights typical services
such as administrative assistance, ad campaigns, appointment setting, auto responders;
B--bookkeeping, branding, brochures, bulk mailings; C--concierge services, copywriting,
contact list management and so on. It clearly helps businesses and virtual assistants
see exactly what a VA can do for them and highlights tasks they might not have
even considered.
“I think this industry will just continue to grow,” Reddick adds.
“This used to seem like a radical concept; and now hopefully with this
national recognition it will allow other business owners to realize how using
a Virtual Assistant can streamline their administrative tasks and save them
time and money.”
As proof that the industry is growing, Diana Ennen of http://www.virtualwordpublishing.com
recently landed an interview in Reader’s Digest, where she was able to
spread the news of the Virtual Assistant Industry. The article talks about making
money while working at home, stating “If you possess word processing,
transcription, bookkeeping, public relations, or website design skills, you
may want to try employment as a virtual assistant. Ennen is quoted as saying,
“There is so much work for VAs that the field is thriving. It is absolutely
booming.” And Ennen believes this with all her heart.
Look for this segment airing on NBC sometime in April. Stop by Reddick’s
site at: http://www.vandeservices.com
for additional information on the VA industry and her services.
About V-And-E-Services: V-And-E-Services specializes in “taking the administrative weight off the shoulders” of the small business owner and/or entrepreneur so they can concentrate on making their business grow. Reddick also offers a weekly newsletter entitled Grammar Tips From The Red Editor, a division of V-And-E-Services. http://www.theredpeneditor.com.
Office Support 911 Opens its 'Virtual Doors' to Help Small Businesses Drowning in Paperwork
Brampton, ON (PRWEB) May 18, 2006 -- Office Support 911, a Brampton, Ontario based Virtual Assistant service, is now open for business. Owner, Karen Braschuk, has joined the thousands of women (and men) who have decided to offer their administrative and secretarial skills from their home offices.
“We can do practically everything…except make the coffee!” is Braschuk’s slogan on her web site: http://officesupport911.ca
Says Braschuk, “Many small business owners have at least one thing in common: limited financial resources. These entrepreneurs have a solid vision and the drive to succeed, yet may not have the funds on-hand to hire someone on a full-time basis to perform the administrative tasks that are vital to the ultimate success of their business. This is where the newly emerging Virtual Assistant (VA) industry appears to be stepping in nicely to fill this gap.”
The Catch-22 for these small businesses may be that without the expertise and administrative services they need right now…their businesses may never fully get off the ground. They may not hire someone because they believe they can't afford it, and yet hiring someone to achieve their goals might just be a lot more affordable than they think.
Because virtual assistants work from home as independent contractors, there are none of the usual employee-related costs to the small business owner such as medical/dental benefits, paid vacations, and sick-leaves. There is no new equipment to buy, no extra overhead or office space to rent, and no lengthy salaried ‘learning curves’ that new employees would normally require as they settle into their new roles.
Using the latest in computer software and hardware technologies, Office Support 911 offers its clients services such as word processing, spreadsheet preparation, visual presentations, marketing materials, proofreading/editing, calendar management and live telephone customer service. All of these services are provided ‘virtually’ via email, fax, telephone and courier.
Braschuk, a 48-year-old mother of two teenage sons and a veteran of the corporate world since the age of 16, adds: “I’ve been employed by both a major Canadian bank as well as a computer software company for many years combined. As I worked my way through the ranks, I learned about finance, customer service, time management and people skills. I think my past experience, coupled with my current technical abilities, would definitely be an asset to small business owners and entrepreneurs needing someone to take the initiative to get the job done - without paying an ‘arm and a leg’ for that service.”
Virtual assistants may charge by the hour, by the project (pay-as-you-go), or on a monthly retainer basis. This type of flexibility can be invaluable to small business owners whose operations may be seasonal, or to those who are experiencing the inevitable waxing and waning of cash flow.
'Virtual assistants' endeavor to find out as much about their clients as possible. This way they can provide exactly what their clients need -- exactly when they need it.

Reader’s Digest Explores the Thriving Virtual Assistant Industry

Margate, FL, (April, 2007) Diana Ennen knows how to make a business successful in today’s marketplace. Working from home since 1985, the entrepreneur has been highly successful in helping others reach their business goals for over two decades. Ennen’s most recent accomplishment was landing an interview in Reader’s Digest, where she was able to spread the news of the Virtual Assistant Industry, which she is so passionate about. The article talks about making money while working at home, stating “If you possess word processing, transcription, bookkeeping, public relations, or website design skills, you may want to try employment as a virtual assistant. Ennen is quoted as saying, “There is so much work for VAs that the field is thriving. It is absolutely booming.” And Ennen believes this with all her heart.
The article focuses on work that can be done on a part-time basis. Ennen contends that while most start their businesses on a full-time basis, many have been very successful working part-time, before growing their business into successful enterprises. According to Ennen, “The important thing is to use your own skills and expertise to build your business. Starting a virtual assistant business isn’t a get rich quick scheme. It takes time and talent, but those who succeed can’t imagine doing anything else. And clients today are grateful to have talented and highly skilled personal assistance for all their business needs. A VA business is not one that can be started overnight, but it is a business that has tremendous potential.”
Ennen has been helping entrepreneurs start their businesses since writing her first book back in 1996, Words From Home: Start, Run and Profit from a Home-based Word Processing Business, which she updates on a regular basis. Also, Ennen and co-author Kelly Poelker have recently completed the Virtual Assistant-The Series: Workbook Edition that accompanies their main book Virtual Assistant – The Series: Become a Highly Successful, Sought After VA, which is considered the Bible of the VA Industry. With these books, aspiring readers are provided with priceless tools on everything from choosing the right VA business and specialty, to advertising and promoting your business, to daily operational procedures. Other books by Ennen include the WordPerfect OfficeReady Virtual Assistant Solution Pack, which comes complete with a 81 page ebook and over 70 templates on starting a VA business. Finally, Ennen has published the nail-biting piece of fiction, Sledgehammer and children’s book, Zip, Burp and Hula, available in her online bookstore at Virtual Word Publishing.
Ennen was also recently honored with a nomination for the Thomas Leonard Virtual Assistant of Distinction Award, which will be announced at the International Virtual Assistants Day on May 18, 2007. Ennen states, “To be nominated for this by my peers is priceless. I feel so honored to be among so many talented and deserving VAs nominated. “

RJ’s Word Processing Services Announces the Addition of Real Estate Virtual Assistant (REVA) Service
San Diego, CA, May 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Rita Cartwright, Owner of RJ’s Word Processing Services, is pleased to announce the addition of a new team member to her organization. The new member will assist their real estate clients offering them specialized virtual assistance. These services will include new listing coordination, marketing the listing, leads & drip campaigns, and online transaction management/closing transaction. Rita began her business in 2002 offering virtual assistance, specifically word processing services, to individuals, small companies, as well as corporations. Her goal is to expand her company by adding team members whose services will complement her current offerings rather than compete with them.
Approximately six months ago, Rita hired a virtual assistant who provides transcription services. Diana Ennen of Virtual World Publishing states in a recent Reader’s Digest article, “There is so much work for VAs that the field is thriving. It is absolutely booming.”
The Virtual Assistants (VAs) industry started approximately 10 years ago. The industry is gaining national recognition with articles both in the Wall Street Journal and Reader’s Digest. Technology and the Internet have allowed entrepreneurs, small business owners, and work-at-home moms to establish home-based businesses offering various products and services, including virtual assistance.
“I’m thrilled to be able to enhance my current services to the real estate market,” says Rita, “my idea is to be a 'one-stop' shop for them.”

Small Business Owners Sustain Competitive Edge with Virtual Assistance

Small Business Owners Sustain Competitive Edge with Virtual Assistance
Widespread use of the Internet and other communications technologies is translating into smart economics for small business owners and the innovative entrepreneurs who support them. Virtual assistants build cyber relationships with clients who want to spend less time administrating and more time doing what they love.
Lethbridge, AB (PRWEB) May 2005 -- For the small business owner, the only thing more challenging than achieving success is sustaining it. Administration and planning activities can start to overwhelm the entrepreneur’s ability to generate revenue from something that was once a passion. A virtual assistant, however, can end the downward spiral for those who feel victimized by their own success.
A virtual assistant, or “VA,” is an independent contractor who provides administrative, technical, creative, or consulting services to other businesses, usually from a home office. VAs support their clients via the Internet, phone, fax and email. Most VAs effectively partner with clients from a distance, eliminating the need for onerous commutes and meetings.
In Canada, a VA may charge $35 per hour or more depending on his or her skill level, professional experience, and the client’s specific needs. This is considerably cheaper than using conventional hired help. Benefits and overhead alone can increase employees’ compensation by eighty-five per cent of their salary.
According to Industry Canada, thirty-three per cent of self-employed men and women work more than fifty hours per week. As a business grows, so do the demands on the entrepreneur’s time, cash flow, and ability to manage stress. Not only does productivity suffer, but work-life balance also takes a hit. Outsourcing to a virtual assistant can help the small business owner restore a sense of normalcy and control within his or her personal and professional life.
Karri Flatla, Lethbridge business woman, wife, and mother, saw a need in the business community for skilled writing support and enterprise planning. Drawing on her university degree and breadth of work experience, she launched snap! virtual assistance inc. Already accustomed to working at home as the part-time business manager of her husband’s consulting firm, Flatla knew she had something special to offer as a virtual assistant.
She also knew that asking business people to “go virtual” would not be an easy task. “Building relationships is what this business is all about,” states Flatla. “Even the savviest entrepreneur will need and want outside support at some point. And a fresh perspective is simply invaluable in business.”

Taking the Four Letter Word Out of Marketing and Making It Easier for Entrepreneurs
Roanoke, VA (PRWEB) October 24, 2005 -- It is common among small business owners to assume that marketing is beyond their economic reach and will be for some time. They believe that until they grow their businesses, the marketing tools by which to achieve further growth will remain too expensive to be practical. It is that misconception that Heather Jacobson dispels in her ebook, Making Dollars Out of Cents: 101 Tips for the Frugal Marketer.
Jacobson, a successful business owner, states, “So many times I hear people who are starting out with their businesses complain that they would love to market their ideas, but do not have the money. This simply amazes me because I have a very successful business that began turning a profit after three months. In the first nine months I spent less than $100 on my marketing efforts, total. There are ways. 101 ways, in fact, to inexpensively market your business.”
Any business can grow by exposing their products to a larger customer base. Making Dollars Out of Cents can help entrepreneurs do this sooner because less money is needed to access markets in the ways that Jacobson illustrates. Her clear vision and original thinking led her to try new ideas and new perspectives on marketing. Small businesses are opening up everywhere. Jacobson’s novel approaches can be utilized to fit many marketing niches.
According to Erin Banister, Founder of Trinity Jacobs, Jacobson “has compiled not only a great list of inexpensive resources for marketing, but also provided real-world examples. Those examples have shown me that not only can the tips be put into action immediately, they can also bring results faster than I thought possible. Without this ebook, I would never have thought to use some of these techniques, and I would never have had this sudden growth.”
Dale Noles, President of The Selon Group, has been a vocal supporter since this ebook’s concept. Noles says, “This e-book is literally jammed packed with 101 inexpensive, innovative and practical marketing ideas that you can use immediately to jumpstart your business or catapult you to the next level. Since I began reading Making Dollars Out of Cents and implementing this practical advice for just two weeks The Selon Group is already seeing dramatic results.”
Jacobson concludes, “I’ve searched high and low and can find ebooks filled with marketing strategies but most of their ideas cost more money than I would consider economical. The key to inexpensive and free marketing is utilizing all the tools available to you and making it viral in nature. There are tools out there that you didn’t even know existed.”

UK Virtual Assistant Operates on a “Pay-as-you-go” Basis
From a home in Stalybridge, Cheshire, and from other homes throughout the UK, hundreds of people, including Helen Byrne, are helping businesses throughout the world as a virtual assistant, also known as VA.
Virtual assistants are professional office assistants who provide office services and support without being physically present at clients’ premises by using the Internet, fax, and telephone. Since much of their work is done online, they can work locally or globally.
Byrne began a VA business, VIRTUALOSO, in October 2007. “Clients typically hire virtual assistants so they can focus on what they do best which is building their own business,” says Byrne. She got into the profession after years of work in research administration turned her off to cubicles, commuting, and office politics.
Since the term "virtual assistant" surfaced in the late-1990s, hundreds of VAs in the UK have established themselves as entrepreneurs and small start-up businesses – just like many of their clients.
VIRTUALOSO offers a variety of services from basic word processing, diary management and transcription, through to conference and event management, travel arrangements, and even assistance in web design, hosting and maintenance.
Byrne says that many companies that are hesitant to use a VA are usually unaware of the tremendous talent pool available through independent contractors. “With advancements in technology, the VA industry now consists of enterprising individuals -- many of whom have elected to leave corporate positions in order to provide highly skilled services virtually.”
She points out that it’s also very cost effective to hire a VA. “Studies have shown the real cost of hiring and keeping a full-time assistant at your own site is between 2 and 3 times the cost of his or her actual salary,” Byrne explains. “Since a VA is a contractor, employers don't have to pay taxes, insurance, or any fringe benefits. There's no need for extra office space or equipment. And best of all, the employer only pays for the ‘time on task’. It really is a pay-as-you-go service.”
