I found this discussion really interesting, as I need to change my system every few years as my workload shifts.

I've gone from paper, to paper and Outlook combined, to just Outlook, and now back to a combination. I've also used a whiteboard calendar along with the other bits. Now I'm using a paper planner for scheduled activities and tasks which MUST be done on a specific day, and an Excel spreadsheet for planning everything else (see http://www.onlineorg...try.asp?id=2394 for more details). Oh yes, I'm still using Outlook for some stuff too.

I'm also really interested in learning what works well for other people. Those of you who were at my Lunch & Learn at FoVA or eSeminar last week with VA Virtuosos know I've written an ebook about personality type and organizing/time management style. I hope to publish an updated edition of this e-book in the future, so if you happen to know your MBTI personality type, I would really appreciate it if you took a couple of minutes to answer a few questions at http://tinyurl.com/your-org-style.
