Karen,

Was the pdf created with Adobe or another software? Not all are compatible with Adobe.

If you'd like to email me your doc I'll try converting it for you.

Hi Ruth,

I just sent it to you. It was created in Adobe so I can't figure out why I can't convert it back.

Thanks for trying!

If the file is not protected and you don't have images in it and don't care about formatting you can just save as text. Or try ZamZar.

Here's what I do - go to the Document menu and select OCR Text Recognition. It'll take a few minutes depending on the size of your file, but it will isolate each letter, recognize it, and replace it with text on the PDF. Then, it's a matter of copying and pasting into a Word document.

The PROBLEM with this, though, is that it loses ALL formatting and ALL images, and you have to go back through very carefully to fix any errors from the recognition process. It's a pain in the butt, which is why I usually just retype the darn thing.
