The very first thing that I did on my quest to become a Virtual Assistant was purchase the Virtual Assistant Startup System (now known as the Virtual Business Startup System) and I am glad that I did.
I was very serious about starting my business, and the kit that Tawnya put together had most of the ground work done for me. One of the biggest things that I got out of the kit, in all honesty, was the drive to be successful. Having made such a substantial monetary investment in my business really gave me the drive to make it work.
The books included in the kit are great resources that I refer to often. The business plan is an awesome resource as are the business templates. The workbook really opened my eyes to what needed to be done to make it all happen and I'm glad that I had a book full of checklists and reminders to refer to along the way.
If you are serious about starting a VA business, how could you not buy this?

My decision to invest in The VAS System was easy as many well respect leaders in the VA profession, as well as an accredited college, endorse this product. Ms. Sutherland has filled The VAS System with effective exercises, essential information, and invaluable templates that will ensure the success of System owners. Moreover, the System is enhancement with relevant readings from two prominent Virtual Assisting books. I have not had a moment of buyer's remorse over this one purchase and thank Ms. Sutherland for sharing her wealth of knowledge.

The Virtual Assistant Startup System is an incredible tool for anyone starting a new Virtual Assisting business. Each new day is packed with insightful and thought provoking "next steps" to keep you organized and accountable for your own success. The VAS is even more powerful with the addition of the VAS Template CD-ROM. The business templates on the CD are like another gift that Tawnya is sharing with VAS owners. She removes the burden of starting "from scratch" by offering the best of her experience in a format that you can use and edit for your own business. All of the VAS System components together truly take the guesswork out of starting your own VA practice. Thank you, Tawyna for becoming a VA partner for OUR success as an industry!

After working in the corporate world for several years, I left my administrative position in April of 2004. I was tired and frustrated with balancing the two competing roles in my life: being the best mother and the best employee I could be. While researching options that would allow me to work at home, I discovered a new industry, virtual assistance, which would allow me to work at home on a schedule I chose, do the work I enjoy, and still be available for my family.
A month later, I had my first virtual client but I didn't have a business. I had no idea how to develop a business, how to create a website, or how to market my business. For months I struggled on my own, researching how to start and develop a business and writing lists of the detailed tasks I needed to accomplish to make my business into what I envisioned. Discovering the VAS System simplified this process by giving me a structured plan to bring this vision to light.
The VAS System is a comprehensive package that combines all the information and resources necessary to starting a virtual assistant business, along with an easy to follow schedule. It's called "The 30-Day VAS System", but the program is flexible enough to accommodate whatever time frame you have. Tawnya Sutherland explains the various aspects of setting up and running a VA business in simple language, but with enough detail that the information is still helpful and relevant. I had no experience running a business, so the sections on selecting a business structure, how to choose a business name, and writing mission and vision statements helped me to define my virtual assistant business. I learned it's important to have these foundations in place so you know what you're building and why.
The templates and coupons included in the VAS System have been invaluable in starting my VA business. After choosing one of the attractive website templates and using the coupon for a year of website hosting, getting my first website up was a snap. I could have designed all my own stationery, but using the stationery templates made the process much quicker. I now know how to market my business, and I have a plan for business development. After-purchase support, from Tawnya and from other VAs in the VANF forum, has been both helpful and readily available.
When I first purchased the VAS System, I wondered if I had done the right thing. Maybe I was taking the easy way out by not doing all this work on my own. I shared these thoughts with a friend, who reminded me that a smart business person knows what her limits are, and engages appropriate help when needed. That friend was right – buying the VAS System was a sound business decision. The VAS System has made my virtual assistant business a reality!
Buying Tawnya Sutherland's VAS (Virtual Assistant Startup) System is the best investment I have made thus far in my own Virtual Assistant business. It comes packed with tons of editable samples and templates that include but are not limited to contracts, retainer agreements, financials, business plans, marketing material, business correspondence letters, and even logo and website development tips and tutorials. You also get two great books written by a couple of very successful Virtual Assistants about building up your own business. Even if you are more than proficient in putting all this together yourself, why would you want to when you can get a jump start like this instead of wasting all that time starting from scratch? Time is money and when you're growing your own business you simply can't go wrong with investing in the VAS system. And another awesome bonus is that it is tax deductible as a business expense. I highly recommend the VAS System to any entrepreneur.
