I am a little leery about purchasing PLR, but that is just me. I have heard good things about it, but also that you have to be very careful about purchasing those and putting them on your website. My question is if a lot of people are buying the same PLR's and you do tweak the content somewhat, can't others tell that it really isn't your own writing???...I mean Google picks up everything.

Hi Debbie,

Indeed, Google has eyes everywhere ;) but you can use the PLR for email mailouts or reports (optins) that Google doesn't index. You can also use the ideas or main topics from the PLR to formulate your own blog posts as well.

I love PLR but I do agree you have to put your own tone into it and it's not as simple as cut and paste.

Here are some ideas for repurposing for reports:

  • Change the headlines
  • Rewrite into
  • Rewrite Conclusion
  • Remove information no longer relevant
  • Add in extra supporting points
  • Rework stories so they relate to you not the original author

Or Change the format for blog posts

  • Create a how to
  • Create a tip sheet
  • Repurpose as an infographic
  • Make into a video
  • Make a cheatsheet or checklist

Hope these give you some ideas on how to repurpose PLR.

Regards.

I like PLR because it gives me ideas to write my own blog posts. I don't use the words verbatim but do take the ideas/layout in the content and put into my own words. Bloggers that are successful really need to have their own personality/style with their writing and using PLR only won't make you very popular or original ;)

PLR is great though for freebies or giveaways to grow your list if they are informational.

BTW, awesome ideas Mark how to repurpose PLR :)

You need a good SEO company to get high rank and to generate more leads.

In this instance, I have a webpage and not a whole lot of funds to put my site online. Would advertising on free search engines offering free time ie; 3 hours free be an idea to get clients?

I think advertising on search engines is a waste of money. You'd be better off investing that money in some of the great VA organizations out there that have quality job boards. Read this thread

Tawnya has a great suggestion about va job boards. Also what about starting a facebook business page and posting there and on other va groups on facebook. Linked-in is a great place to set up your profile and connect with potential clients.
