Hi everyone. My name is Debra Brothers and I have been researching being a VA for awhile now (and doing a little bit of lurking on this forum) and have decided to give it a try. My background is a little different than most VAs I think, in that my current profession is Health Information Management Professional, but I think many of my skills will be transferable to this new profession.

This forum has already been a great resource and I look forward to meeting all of you.

The best VA businesses always start out with just "a try" so kudos to you for stepping up and firmly stating this is what I want to do ;)

Definitely, your specialized skills will be transferrable to a VA career.

Glad you love the forum so far and looking forward to learning more about you and your business. Enjoy!

Hello all. I'm very new at this and I am looking to become a VA and the only jobs I've ever had was a school teacher and working as Corrections in a prison. I do have many skills and is looking to become the best VA possible. Can someone give me some pointers on how to get started. Thank you in advance

Try doing a client avatar. List your pros and cons in what skills you want to offer, as well as learn new skills if you want to, thats what I would suggest Flowers43!

All the best.
