Thunderbird / Mailbird or other?

2 posts in this topic

For the past 11 years I have been running my business with Outlook very happily. However, I would like to move to a cloud based email system that is accessible from any computer and wondered what you would recommend.

Some things to bear in mind are:

  • I have 9 different client email domains running through outlook and whilst the easiest way to go would be to use Office 365, they do seem to want to charge for every domain name.
  • Also, I like that I can have the calendar feature on the same platform.

So far I've whittled it down to Thunderbird or Mailbird but wondered if anyone had any experience with these two or if there are some that I've missed.

Thanks for your help and/or comments and suggestions.

Sheena

Hi Sheena,

I used Outlook for years as well, like the desktop one, based on the computer. I was very stuck in my ways but found it to be a pain when I have a few computers.

I switched to gmail about a month ago and am so happy I did. Now I can easily access my emails from all my computers, my phone, or and device/computer if need be. I tried the paid version of Google and didn't like it and had a lot of problems so just moved back to the free one.

A way to get around being charged for each domain would be to forward all the emails to one main email.

Then create an alias for each one. So you can send from any of the email addresses. This is what I had to do in gmail.
