Virtual Assistant Networking Association

Candy Beauchamp is the owner/operator of OffAssist and brings to it a background heavily steeped in bookkeeping for small to mid-sized businesses. She grew up near Charleston, SC and spent several years in Honolulu, HI before moving to Austin, TX in 1998. OffAssist began as a concept in 1999 and officially opened its doors in 2002. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her two children. Candy credits her success to her amazing family and friends, who have stood by her while growing OffAssist into what it is today.Candy served on the Board of Directors of the International Virtual Assistants Association from 2005 to 2008 in a variety of roles: Historian, Vice-President, and President.

Below are testmonials from business colleagues for Candy:

On May 24, 2004 Candy Beauchamp joined VAnetworking while it was still in its infancy.  Little did I know then what a huge influence she would have not only on my life, but the lives of what is now over 10,000 members.  Candy has one of the largest hearts I have even come across and the kind responses and thank-you's she gets in our forum are testament to a great person.

First she was a VANF member (VAnetworking's old name), soon there after she stepped up to the plate and became a moderator. Then, on top of being a full time business owner, President of IVAA, a mentor to the VA Industry, and more importantly a wife and Mother to her family, Candy took on the extra burden of becoming an Administrator to VAnetworking.

Words such as thank-you cannot true convey sufficient gratitude to all of the time and positive energy Candy as shown to me and more importantly, the members of VAnetworking.  If ever there needed to be a poster child (Woman) for generosity, Candy would have to be on the top of the list of candidates.

Not only are all of us at VAnetworking better VA’s because of your time and willingness to share Candy, but more importantly, we’re better people.

It has been an amazing experience to watch Candy work on OffAssist over the years. In just 7 years she had grown the company from only a few small clients to being a major force in the Virtual Assistance industry. During that time she has done an excellent job of balancing family, home, and work without losing sight of what is important for each.

As Candy’s husband I am extremely proud of the work she has done. As part-time worker in her business I am in awe of the things she has accomplished. Her network of contacts is superb, the quality of her work is top notch, and the time she somehow finds for her family is pure quality. I am glad to have Candy as my wife, co-worker, and best friend and I know that the best is yet to come.

Candy was the first VAnetworking member that paid attention to me back when I was a young and whining VA. She was patient and always gave good advice. Candy is smart, successful and supportive. She's done a lot for promoting the VA world and setting an example of how to run a professional business. She is also a good friend. Candy thanks for all your support with VA stuff and so much more over the years.

I started my business, McGuirePro Marketing, in early 2005 by joining IVAA and becoming active in the group. I guess I did some free graphic design work for IVAA, as shortly after that Candy asked me to be on her OffAssist Team as the graphic designer.  I felt so honored and grateful that she would choose me from all the other graphic designers available.  She had no idea at the time what an impact that offer would have on my business and me personally.  It boosted my self-confidence early in my business, and also gave me some credibility.  I will never forget that she did that for me and will always be so thankful. She has since featured me twice in her monthly newsletter, and I continue to get calls from numerous VAs who have heard about me through OffAssist.

Additionally, Candy has personally referred me for both graphic design and promotional products.  Just having her referral alone is huge, as she is so well-known and adored by so many.  She has helped me expand my business more than anyone else!

Candy is so easy-going and kind to everyone, and I love her practicality.   Plus, I’ve never met any other volunteer who works harder and makes it look so easy.

So congratulations, Candy, for this award!  You deserve it more than anyone I know and I will remain forever grateful for the leap of faith you had in me from the start!  Thank you very much for everything!

I love working as a subcontractor for Candy Beauchamp of OffAssist! I immediately knew I wanted to work for her after following her witty posts on the VA Networking forums. I was privileged to join her team upon responding to an RFP last year. Candy is an amazing, active, and well-accomplished young woman both personally and professionally. She is an excellent mentor whether she intends to be or not, always answering my silly questions, or brain fades, directly and patiently. Candy values her team members and is readily available to lend an understanding, supportive ear: she responds fast! I always want to do a great job for her because she was willing to take a chance on me without proven *virtual* bookkeeping experience. I have felt more appreciated by Candy virtually, than I have felt in my corporate years working right beside managers. She continuously demonstrates confidence in my abilities through more responsibility, direct client contact and subcontractor freedom. I cherish this opportunity to be part of Candy’s team; it is absolutely priceless, as is her wisdom beyond her years, and her friendship. She is very well-deserving of the VAccolade of the Year. I’m so proud of Candy and I congratulate her!

I met Candy within months of starting my VA business in 2004 through the IVAA list serve.  When we realized that we both lived in Austin, we met for lunch.  That meeting was definitely a lucky break for me and for my business.  Candy has been such a good friend and mentor to me.  Not only was I able to work as one of her subs, she has always been there to help me figure out a problem or be a sounding board when I am not sure which direction to go with my own business.   Candy is an inspiration to everyone in the VA community and our industry has benefited from her involvement.

How do I love Candy Beauchamp….let me count the ways!  Candy is always there to inspire and encourage new or experienced VAs.  She will share her knowledge and expertise without hesitation – and her knowledge and expertise is immense.  I want to be Candy when I grow up!

Candy has immeasurable patience, which I guess is required when you volunteer as much as Candy does.  As past President of IVAA and current moderator and VA Virtuoso as VAnetworking, Candy gives a lot of her time and effort into fostering this industry, and does it with style.

As a member of Candy’s team, she often amazes me with how much she handles and handles well.  She manages her large business, her great team, her volunteer work, her family – even registrations for the car!

Candy shares!  Yes, folks, Candy plays well in the sandbox!  She shares her up and downs, her experiences, her humor, but most of all Candy shares her time with us.  Time to lead us and guide us so that we can be the best we can be!

I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award or the accolades – THANK YOU SO MUCH CANDY FOR ALL YOU DO!

Candy is just fun!  She is so knowledgeable and helpful, especially with accounting-related inquires. And you can always count on her to make you smile and occasionally, roll in the floor laughing.  She is an incredible leader of our industry and is very responsive when approached directly with questions, even with her busy schedule.

Congratulations Candy, you are more than deserving of the VAccolade of the Year award.

Our Virtual Hats are off to you, Your VAHighness!!

There are few people like Candy. She seems to have a million balls in the air at all times, and manages to do it all with a sense of humor, which can be difficult. She shares her life and work stories and she keeps it real. So well deserved!

Candy is an incredibly important part of my business success.   She has been there from the very start giving advice through the VAnetworking forum while I was building my business.  I work with Candy as a client and am so relieved that she handles my bookkeeping, at last I feel completely calm about that area of my business.  Living nearby we also participate in the VAC - Austin group -- whenever I am able to attend.  Lastly, Candy is my "red phone" and I suppose some might call her my biz coach.  She encourages me when I feel stressed out about a client, she helps me get tough when I am being taken advantage of, and now with the growth of my solo business to a team practice, she is always there offering advice on how best to handle the growth spurt.

Candy is a VA for whom I have an incredible amount of respect.  I think of her as a mentor, a colleague and a friend.

I am SOOO happy that she is getting this award.  She totally deserves it!  Thanks for letting me know!

Candy…Candy…Candy…What do I say about Candy? Candy has assisted so many individuals in their business. It amazes me. She gives a lot to her business, her family and her volunteering. She inspires others to achieve things they never thought they could. As a part of her team, I enjoy working with her. She also has an awesome sense of humor. I can’t think of anyone more deserving for this VAccolade of the Year award than Candy.
