When you are passionate about something, and also have the skills and experience to back it up, that’s when you can truly be good at what you do. For me, that’s helping virtual assistants succeed. Whether a virtual assistant is just starting on their journey, or has been in business for a while and wants to go to the next level, I have the expertise to take them there and also the personality to keep it fun.
I started back in 1985. (Yes, that was back when you told people you worked at home and they snickered thinking you were really watching soaps all day.) Today I still feel the same deep commitment to bring exposure to our Industry and help other virtual assistants achieve the same success that I have. I know what it takes to succeed, it isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it.
My business, Virtual Word Publishing, specializes in publicity and marketing today. However, in my 23 years in business I have done it all from legal and medical transcription, to editing and proofing. Today, my clients love the media attention I get them and they know that working with me, WORKS. I work hard at knowing what works and to make sure that I continue to be on top of my game, I always keep learning more.
As the author of multiple books on starting a virtual assistant business including: Virtual Assistant The Series: Become a Highly Successful and Sought After VA and accompanying workbook (written with Kelly Poelker, another Industry Great), Corel WordPerfect Virtual Assistant Solution Pack, and Words From Home: Start, Run and Profit with a Home based Word Processing Business, I’ve researched thoroughly our industry and talked with dozens of other successful virtual assistants to see what they do to succeed.
