What a VA is not

Recommended Posts

A VA is not . . .

. . . a single task, only one way to do this project, thinker and doer.

. . . going to turn away from a learning curve or a challenge.

. . . someone who doesn't want to learn about your business, your goals, and your priorities.

:whip: A VA is not..................

Exclusive to just one client.......... (I realize there are exceptions to the rule)

At your beck and call............

Operating on 'YOUR' schedule

A VA is not ...

someone that will make easy money and make it quick. A VA is like every other business owner. It takes a lot of work and time.

someone that doesn't want to get to know you and your business.

someone that will stop learning to further their business and yours.

someone that can make your morning coffee.

This is the picture! The numbers of people entering (or learning there was a label for what they do) the field has me in awe. There are more technologies and skills coming that make the reality of office support applicable and acceptable via the virtual pipeline, along with more 'out in the field' or 'from the home office' activity from the clients to complete a virtual work circle if you will. VAs who will take authority and not be tentative about what they can contribute to a client's business besides ROI will take the lead.

A VA is not a "one night stand" but rather is your business partner & supporter for "the long haul."

You don't pay a VA an hourly wage, but rather you pay a VA for the value she/he brings to the hour. (I messed a little with a quote from Jim Rohn.)

...determined by simply working from home on a computer.

...someone who strictly does web design, bookkeeping or data entry etc. They are web designers, bookkeepers and data entry clerks etc.

...someone you micromanage

...is not to be used as a scapegoat

...paid for time not worked

...necessarily short for "Virginia" or "Veterans Administration."

Some people really think that!
