Isn't the VAmotivator a mentoring program? Having a mentor would be fantastic!

I'm sorry to hear that the Intern program had to shut down for a short time. I really valued my time as an intern and it really helped me get a more hands-on feel for my business and the services I could offer. I hope it picks up again really soon. Being a VAnetworking Intern was super and its so valuable to those who are just starting out!!

As far as working with an intern goes, I can only speak for myself. I always focused on turning in quality work before the deadline and I wanted to make sure it was completed to the satisfaction of the client. Communication is the key!

Thanks for starting this topic..

Have a great day,

Hi Renee,

Yes the VAMotivators is a mentoring/coaching program for VA's to get one-on-one coaching!

It's a fantastic program.

Hi Michelle,

I would certainly consider using those resources when I'm ready to expand. Initially I have contracted women I have worked with in the past that I know their skills and capabilities.

Hi Nancy,

I'm wondering about becoming an intern, as well. So, for anyone out there, please post what the requirements are or where we can go to get all the information ourselves.

Thanks very much!!! :D

I just stumbled across the VA Intern program and I'm very interested in joining.

I see that there is a waiting list.

Any idea on how long of a wait it is and any idea of what the qualifications are to be considered?

Hi Nancy

I found an intern program over a year ago and have never heard from them. There was a waiting list as well for these people. I was told it would be quite a while. So don't wait. Do what you need to to get that experience. Perhaps approach some VAs who are established to see if they would take you on. I am fortunate that the RDC program has a practicum portion. Working with the placements has been a great experience.

Warmly

Just to keep everyone updated, there is still a huge waiting list and, unfortunately, the clients are coming in. We have put the program on hold but are trying to find something else to assist individuals that really want to learn. We'll keep you posted.
