It's Time to Take Care of You Challenge

Last night in the chat Tawnya reminded me that I need to get in here and start motivating the VAnetworking gang to start moving and shaking again.

She's right, I do and I need to start with myself.

Now that many of us are back in to the school year routine how about we schedule some time for us in?

Starting on October 1st, 2008 I challenge all VAnetworking members to add some form of movement to their life for the next 31 days.

Experts say it takes 21 days to form a habit. I think it takes busy entrepreneurs more than that so I'm giving you 31 days.

I am going on vacation for the next 2 weeks so that gives you the rest of September to think about what you will do in October. What will you commit to?

And this is a no whining, no excuses zone. I want to hear what you are going to do, not what you can't do because blah, blah, blah.

I am going to commit to going to the gym a minimum of 2 times a week but my goal is 3 times a week in addition to walking my dog 2-3 times a week. I'm also going to put more healthy food in to my body and less sugary food.

Please post here what you are going to commit to doing in October. The challenge starts on October 1st. Each week we will post our goals for the week and give a report of how we did the previous week.

:bounce8::whip:

Who is in?

(You don't have to wait until October to start. If you want to start today, go for it!)

Ruth,

I would never ask anyone to give up chocolate!

Think of it this way: The more you walk the more chocolate you can eat.

Guest Pat Z.

Well....since we can still have chocolate... ;)

I have been walking daily, but will increase my walk and go further.

Okay dang it ... I need this desperately. I will commit to getting my lazy fanny downstairs and getting on the treadmill for 30 minutes 3 times a week, AND getting my book about being fit after 40 out and doing the strength training exercises (10 minutes per day is all it is) the other 2 days.

But ... I really, really need accountability!

Be careful what you ask for Terry!

I'm counting on all of you! If you are all moving I have no excuse not to.

I've been too sick to move. I don't want to move.

Oh wait...you said October 1. Well, I guess! I'll start exercising again for 10-15 minutes a day. I need to get hubby to do this anyway, so I'll be helping him out.

I'll play...

since an iPod touch is on it's way to me, I can commit to more walking... at least twice a week. In addition to soccer, I think this will help. (and since I have to be at football/basketball practice anyway, I might as well walk!)

I've already started this movement myself, but a group will be good.

My "regime" = gym 4 x per week and clean eating which means basically eating foods as close to their natural state as possible (whole grains, sea salt, nuts, fruits and veg, lean meats, etc.). And also drinking 3 liters of water per day.

If I can do this with a one year old, a three year old and a 40 hour work week, I dare you to make excuses ;)
