Working with Quick Books Pro

Recommended Posts

Evening all,

Here comes another newbie question... What are the differences, if any, between the canadian and american version of QuickBooks Pro?

I presently work with 2008 and 2009 Pro, canadian. Now, if I wanted to offer my services to somebody that works with the same versions, but american, would I be stuck?

I mean, bookkeeping is bookkeeping...no?

Thanking you in advance,

Elenora

I do not know the differences, but I do know that the two do NOT play well together on the same computer. I recently had to turn down a prospect (and friend) because I already had the US version installed and the Canadian version wanted to eat it!

I love VANA!

Where else could I get such good answers.. !

Ok, so let's look at this in different way.

Let's say I access my customer's pc in remote access..(I presently do, with 2009, canadian) What would be the challenges?

I am not talking taxes etc. here, just data entering. Remote access can be a b*&^ if your or their connection is not up to par. But, work wise.. Would there be a problem?

The thing here is, Remote access ...

Duh, should have said that from the start..

Guest Pat Z.

As a person who works with both, I can tell you that the Canadian and US versions are different. I find it challenging because the set up is not the same and I have to stop to think "how do I get to this screen....?" and often click on something that works in US, but not in CAD or vice versa.

Other than the taxes, entry is the same. I will say that if you are working with a client that sells internationally, the challenges multiply.

Skype me if you want to discuss.
