Does anyone know why Twitter is no long removing followers from your list once you block them?? Seriously, do I have to keep looking at the bubbies???

Thanks,

I agree with Crystal- not sure what you are saying. The only way you are seeing their posts is if you are following them. Do you have an automatic follow in place maybe like Tweetlater? That is one reason I don't use automatic follow. Only way you can block them from following you is to set your timeline to private-- not a good business move. However, them following you should not affect anything but their picture showing up in your followers- and who really looks at that. There are times when twitter is slow in execution but we are talking hours not days. Maybe I am not understanding what you are saying...

I don't understand. If someone follows you, you won't see their posts unless you follow back. I am able to block people. Sometimes Twitter is too busy and the changes don't take effect immediately. Maybe that's what's happening.

No, I am not following them back... but a couple of times a week I log-in to look at my followers and I block any that are porno & most of them with a naked, pic... Before, when you blocked someone from following you, their profile would disappear from your follower list... now they stay on the list with an UNBLOCK button next to their pic. I don't even want these disgusting people to show on my follower list....

Kim,

Here's the message I got when I went to block this person who was following me but I was not following them.

Are you sure you want to block XXX?

Block_overlay XXX

* You will no longer show up in the list of people followed by XXX

* Your updates won’t show up on XXX's timeline

* XXX will not be able to follow you

Nah, never mind, we're cool.

You can always unblock XXX by visiting his/her profile and clicking on the ‘unblock’ link.

According to twitter this is the process... but also last week they were having some issues with numbers/blocking etc which you can find here. I suspect that is part of the problem, and the delay they seem to still be having while trying to fix.

I have a few followers that I've never followed and have even blocked, but they still show up in my feed. I've had this problem with the same followers for months, I assumed it was just a really annoying glitch.

UPDATE: Twitter has totally changed their follower page... very nice... I like that you can actually see a followers BIO without have to click on their name or scroll of it... Check it out!!

Okay... I had to find a better solution than "wait"... here's what i found searching on twitter help.

Earlier today i blocked someone but even hours later and signing in and out she was still listed under me. I even signed into another twitter acct to see if, as this other person, could I see this blocked follower under me and they could. Not cool. I wanted them totally gone...after some research I found a way to make it work...

I followed these instructions (indicated in bold) I found on the twitter help area. I followed them exactly and I will say when i signed back in I had a scare as it said I had no followers (was actually more than a scare and involved a bit of cursing... but it was okay in the end.)

For someone you have blocked but who still remains in your follower list:

- Go to settings in your twitter account and click to protect your updates.

- Sign out of twitter and close your browser

- Start your browser again and log in again to your Twitter account

- Go to your followers list. (This said 0 followers and is when I freaked!)

- Click on the follower you want to get out of your list and click the options for followers and one of them is remove (As of today there are now these new options)

- Hopefully you now see "Remove" next to your followers (I never noticed the word "hopefully", I probably would not not have tried this if I had seen that word!)

- Remove the blocked follower

- Turn off your settings for protected updates

A followup... once I did this settings on and off thing, I tried blocking someone else, when I did, they disappeared from my followers list immediately. I did not need to go through this process again. Here's hoping it will stay this way...

Any questions... holler!
