Virtual Assistant for $7.50/hour--WOW!!

Recommended Posts

This online job ad caught my eye because it had "Virtual Assistant" in the header. I decided to post it in this Forum category because it's April Fool's Day--and this guy ... well ... 'nuff said.

Now don't trip over yourselves applying, puh-LEEZ!!

VIRTUAL ASSISTANT TO LEAVE MESSAGES

Seeking a person to leave messages for 400 of my clients. This is part of a follow-up campaign. The campaign will last 1 to 2 weeks. After that, we may decide to do another one.

HOW TO GET THE GIG

Send your resume to [Deleted]

Call me to follow-up at [Deleted]

THE WORK

Look at my online calendar and see when I'm free (it's really easy, I'll teach you)

Leave message with my clients' admin staff (front desk, exec assistants, or general mailbox)

Tell them I'm free to talk at {whatever time you choose from my calendar} regarding the email I just sent - I will be sending out 40+ emails/day.

Log the call in our online CRM (it's really easy, I'll teach you)

If they want to schedule a time right then, just do it and send me an email

REQUIREMENTS

1+ year(s) experience as an executive assistant or office administrator

Landline no VoIP or cellphones are permitted

No "household" noise in the background e.g. kids or dogs

Other phones ringing = okay if they sound like business phones

Small ambient noise is okay - like you'd hear in a professional office

HOURS

Any time between 6am and 7pm PST

Amount of work will range from 1-3 hours per day - potentially more if you do a good job

PAY

$0.25 per message. At a rate of 2 minutes per message, that's $7.50 an hour. Paid with check or PayPal every Friday during campaign.

You're not responsible for achieving any results - other than leaving messages.

LOL this type of thing makes me nuts. I had an argument with a guy. I was offering for $5 a sample of my blog posts. The rules were:

Five posts for $5.00 on certain topics.

Keep my byline

Ok they did not have to respond to the ad, they could have just ignored it. The rules were there. But instead they asked for samples. I said "this is the sample" (plus they could look at my blogs and see my writing style). He was real mad but I said "look you don't have to hire me, move on".

Since it was this morning I thought, this must be an april fools joke but it wasn't it seems common that people want work for free.

This is my DREAM JOB so don't anybody else go and apply for this!

So NOT!
