Tiny URL

Recommended Posts

Do you know about tinyurl?

Do you ever get email with links to web sites and stories with extremely long web addresses? Tinyurl takes these god-awful long addresses and turns them into a very short, simple link that doesn't require a person wasting time copying the long one into notepad (which you have to do when the address is broken into multiple lines in a txt only email) and deleting the line breaks and then copying and pasting the whole mess into your browser in order to get the link to work. Here's what tinyurl can do with a link (url) to a CNN news story

into:

http://tinyurl.com/2dltkqh.

Which would you rather try to open? Do yourself and your clients a huge favour and use tinyurl http://tinyurl.com.

What would the world be without tinyurl? Nobody would ever find my website without it:

So instead of www.supercalifragilisticexbealidocious.com, it is just http://tinyurl.com/2alstyl

and if you use Firefox there is an extension that can turn any page or link into a tinyurl with just a click. Life is good!

(I really think the reason people don't find me is that they are just too lazy to type www.supercalifragilistickexbealidocious.com or just do not know how to spell. Hasn't anyone ever heard of SPELLCHECKER? Geez)

I get update emails from HP with terribly long links. Makes me wonder why they don't utilize tiny url.
