Hi There,

I have a client who operates outside the US. She is in the process of publishing a book, but is wondering what is the best way for her to receive payments for book sales in her native currency rather than in US dollars. Does anyone know if PayPal or some other format would work best?

My client in Sweden pays me through PayPal. I send her an invoice, converted into Krona, and she pays it, and it comes to me in US Dollars. I think she had to do something on her end, I'm not sure, and honestly, I've never thought that much about it.

Since she's a US Citizen also (born & raised in Louisiana, moved to Ireland, then Sweden), she knows how to convert the currency, too. And she makes sure that I'm not shorted in any way. She even adds in 5% for the PayPal charge. I don't ask her to, and I don't invoice it. She just does it.

I know that doesn't really help, but it might give you some insight as to how that works.
