Background question

Recommended Posts

Guest

I just switched servers and began using a cpanel. I think I have it all figured out except now my background is "broken up" into sections. You can see it at http://www.jackygamble.com . Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thank you.

Hi Jacky :)

I looked at your source code, keep in mind I am just now moving into an intermediate understanding of HTML coding, and I am wondering if you took out the code:

bgproperties="fixed"

if that would help?

Jacky,

That was a bizzare thing to have happen and ended up not be a coding issue afterall. Love these "mysterious" problems in html coding and trying to figure them out. Anyhow I think I figured it out for you:

First re-upload the graphic incase it uploaded corruptly. The graphic is the problem, not the html source code. If that doesn't work, then open the background image in photoshop and you will find that it has white pixels running along the top of it. Recrop the image to rid of these and this should solve your problem.

If you can't figure out how to do this, email it to me and I will help out.

Good call Tawnya! :D

I didn't even think of that. I guess I left my brain in park today. LOL Though Jacky, when I looked at the graphic in Adobe Photoshop the white pixels were at the bottom, not the top. So either way, I have to agree with Tawnya, this definitely is where the problem is, the graphic, not the HTML. Somehow the pixels were added when you published this website to the new server.

Bizzare isn't it Naomi? I have no explanation how the pixels got added and then to top it off, when I downloaded the graphic to look at it, the pixels were now at the bottom and not the top. Truly bizzare, must have been the "pixel ghost" ;)

Jacky: Don't forget to upload that vinebar.gif ok ?

Tawnya, beware breathing the name of the Pixel Ghost. I wrote about the dread Vaoriasis disease. Do you really want me to have to tell you the scary story about the dreaded Pixel Ghost that haunts every machine? The Pixel Ghost lurks in the darkest deepest bowels of machines, waiting for the opportune moment to strike its unsuspecting victim. It is so horrible to look at and causes such havoc that any soul that has been attacked by the Pixel Ghost immediately has heart failure, the throat dries up, sweat droplets start to drip from the pores of the skin. Oh my gosh, it is too horrible to go on . . . least the Pixel Ghost awakens and attacks my machine.

Nay, nay, we must not bow down to this Ghost. We must wear our armor, and protect all souls from this fiendish ghost. Let us pray fervently that we have rescued Jacky from this beast. Let us three lock arms and defy this cad, this fiend. We shall be strengthened as a team, this Ghost will not destroy us!!!! ;)

Thank you so much everyone.

I guess I have my moments. Yes, individuals have told me I should write a book; however, it is usually once they hear a little bit about the struggles I went through growing up. Or, that I should write a book about horror and the unknown because I use to have such horrible nightmares every night that it would make Dean Koontz or Stephen King look like they were telling sweet children's stories. (Fortunately, the nightmares stopped around the age of 24, and yes, I have read almost all Dean Koontz's books, Ann Rice, etc.)

I thank God that I was given perseverance and strength, and at times a sense of humor, which is showing more and more lately. :) I also am so thankful that I found God was always standing beside me, inside me, and all around me. When I discovered that, then everything was so much easier to handle.

Thank you for the kudos everyone. :grouphug:
