Questions about Becoming a RE VA

Recommended Posts

Do you feel a certification is needed? I am searching for resources to explore this as a niche and target client area but I can't seem to find anything outside of signing up for a course.

I have been considering my target to be mom-entrepreneurs is large and varied. Since I have a interest in Real Estate, I thought I should explore the possibility of having it be my VA focus.

Do you focus on a particular service (mine would social media, blog management, ezine/newsletter management), or work as a generalist?

What skills do you feel are "Have to know This" to break into this niche?

Any resources you recommend for a RE VA want to be?

I would consider certification once I funds start coming in to afford it. I plan to get certified in social media management, too.

Katherine, I put together a global board to form a VA Certification as many clients wanting to hire VAs were asking me to do this. Our board consists of many well-known leaders in the VA industry. There is no test of sorts to take to become certified and you are judged individually through a long 10 page application form taking into account many factors as stated below. You can visit our website at www.VAcertified.com to learn more but here are highlights:

Upon being VAcertified you will be able to:

  1. Let your clients know you are VAcertified
  2. Display the VAcertified Logo on your website and in your promotional materials
  3. Be listed in the VAcertified Directory
  4. Use the designation in your signature “Your Name, VAcertified”
  5. Receive a VAcertified certificate to frame & hang on your office wall

The certification process is based on your:

  1. Professional work experience
  2. Education and VA training
  3. Demonstrated contributions to the VA industry

Hi Katharine,

I realize this post is dated, but I just saw it this morning...

If you would like to specialize in real estate, my advice is to get certified. There are many nuances to supporting a realtor and having the training is important.

We recently updated our REVA University program from 21, to more than 30 modules.

I will be speaking at the upcoming VAVS about our program so I invite you to listen in!
