Business Card Tips

Recommended Posts

A business card is one of the most valuable marketing tools you will have to promote your business' professional image.

A few pointers when designing your business cards:

1. Don’t skimp on your business cards – they will speak on behalf of your business. Stay away from using do-it-yourself, perforated business card stationery that you rip apart. Instead, hire a printing company that will print them on quality paper stock, using vibrant colors, and high definition graphics. Remember, if your business cards look cheap, so will your services! Spend the extra money and get them done professionally.

I use Overnight Prints and have always had quick, affordable, professional business cards from them. Vistaprint has some good deals now and then too.

2. Consider using a card stock that is out of the ordinary. For example: A neon color heavier card stock, heavier card stock, a vellum, or see-through type card stock for an interesting impact.

3. Make sure your name and contact information is legible and in a clear font on the business card. Don’t use strange fonts for this contact information. Use the KISS principle, “Keep It Simple Stupid!”

4. Include your logo and tagline if you have one. The more unique it is, the better the impact.

5. Consider adding a QR code to your card.

6. It costs very little to add something to the back of your card, possibly a service list, yearly calendar or a discount coupon. The more valuable you make this to your potential clients, the greater chances they will keep your card and refer back to it.
