Do You Inform Clients of Government Holidays?

Recommended Posts

Was wondering if and how everyone informs clients of stat/government holidays. Like for example, Christmas Day or Thanksgiving. Do you just assume they know? Or do you inform them ahead of time that you will be closed. Maybe you send out a welcome package when you sign them about all the holidays you follow?

I usually have it in my welcome package just stating all statutory holidays as well as stating whether I take holidays or not (say 2-4 weeks per year) adding that I will always give one month's notice and of my own holidays so that we can work together to have them all set up while I'm away (either I do work ahead of time or outsource to another VA while I'm gone).

I feel it's good to give a new client some form of a welcome package. You could also make it a hidden page on your website with all your particulars, contact info, etc. and then share link with new clients. That way you can update or change it. Or even add dates of your holidays to it as they come along.
