Desperate for immediate help!

Recommended Posts

Hi ALL!

I have researched Wordpress support and Google and can't figure out how to resolve my issue. I have a fatal error and no way to log in to website. This happened once before and I immediately deleted the plugin and deactivated all plugins one at a time and it was resolved. However this time it's different. Can't figure it out. Please help!

Hi, sorry to hear about the issues you are having. You can always download WordPress and just remove the wp-content folder from the download or not upload it. Please don't overwrite your current wp-content or you'll lose all your plugins, themes and images. That is where the user added content gets stored. And yes, also keep the wp-config file handy.

Feel free to reach out to me if you need help. By the looks of the error log, your wp-settings.php file is either missing or can't be read for some reason. Is it possible you accidentally deleted it with ftp? Or even moved it by accident?

My first move would be to try and restore the wp-settings file but don't rule out what Jodie said at the possibility of being hacked.

Cheers.

When you download wordpress you need to open the zip file and then upload every file you see (except wp-config.php), the wp-admin folder, the wp-includes folder to the public_html. This should over write all the current files with new one. Hopefully this will fix the issue. What is the URL of the site having troubles? It is hard to help without that.

How frustrating technology can be at times. Wonder if you got it all resolved. I had this happen to me and had to upload a new version of my wordpress theme through c-panel and had my webhost reinstall my MySQL tables and this got me up and running again.
