I was wondering when I should start learning about adding on a subcontractor. I want to learn as much as possible as soon as possible, so I would like to know how they work and the math behind earning from them. I.e. What I can expect to pay and have them do, how I can make profit from them, when to add one on? ETC. All information will be greatly appreciated!

I have two subcontractors. I think typical is 40-50% higher than what you pay them is what you charge the client. I have seen most subcontractors starting off between $15-20/hr and upwards from there depending on their experience and the type of work.
