In previous Office versions, part of the clutter was in using both the menus and submenus as well as the icons. Now in 2007, we are faced with being able to use icons only. I guess time will tell how quickly others warm up to this newest Office version. And this is the challenge if you decide to use OpenOffice...how do you keep up with Microsoft Office? While OpenOffice has done quite well at times...they can't always compete with the changes to Microsoft from what I've experienced. I used to think there wasn't much difference with Microsoft and OpenOffice, but I'm getting the feeling now that Microsoft is making a break from the traditional Office Suites by streamlining things even further. Whether that makes our lives easier or not is to be determined...but considering how little I knew about the changes and how much I work with Office 2007 beta now, I'm sure that for a techie like myself, it would be more worthwhile sticking to Microsoft Office rather than trying to struggle through something that ends up being a Microsoft Office wannabee!
