I absolutely don't mind, and yes Internet Explorer looks at the first 256 bytes of a file when it performs its ill-advised (dumb) data sniffing routine. The text/plain mime type will also be broken in IE7, so let us know if you run across a better method. I would display the comment on one line and offset it far to the right so the viewer's attention is focused on your source code examples, however.
