I've finally gone crazy and got admitted

Recommended Posts

Wow! Sounds like you had an interesting trip to the hospital.

Just get some rest. Everything else will wait. Your health is more important. Plus, Karri's right - you need your rest for Dallas ;).

Saying a prayer for you.

Tawnya,

I'm so glad to hear that you are home. Be sure to listen to the dr's and make sure you get lots of rest. And that means no laptop in bed with you!

Ahh, our wonderful medical system. It's said that Canada has one of the best medical systems in the world. As recently as 10-15 years ago I probably would have agreed. Since then, it's been all downhill. (However, having said that, I realize that we are still very fortunate for what we have, as compared to some of the less fortunate countries).

Five years ago I was diagnosed with a serious chronic medical condition. It took me 7 years of constant fighting with doctors before I was finally diagnosed. I went through 5 different family doctors and 3 specialists during that time - each of them (after me bickering at them constantly to find out what the problem was), told me I was paranoid, depressed ("here, take this..."), hypocondriack (or however you spell it! )... you name it, they mis-diagnosed it - I think just to get me to shut up. Finally the diagnosis came and I actually felt vindicated - free - released!

It's really a shame when you have to fight so hard when you know something is wrong and they can't find what it is. I tell you this Tawnya, to encourage you to never give in or give up. Don't ever just resign yourself to the fact that you have this problem and have to live with it. Just keep persevering. If one doctor tells you you're crazy, move on to the next, and the next, and the next. Eventually you will find the answers you are looking for - and man, will you feel good!

If you ever get frustrated, and need to vent, give me a call or send me an email. "Been there, done that", so I can relate to your frustrations completely.

Now get away from your computer and get some rest! ;)

Welcome back, Tawnya!

I'm sorry that your hospital stay was so horrendous, but I'm glad you're home! Now you can really get some rest!

You know I'm the first person to tell you that steroids are sometimes a necessary evil, so don't feel bad for resorting to that. There are times when you have no choice in the matter! I hope that they start to kick in pretty soon so you can get some relief for awhile at least!

Thanks for the shout out, but if I was an allergy expert, I would have figured out what was wrong with ME by now! ;) After researching for 3 years, I've learned a thing or two though! I'm glad I can pass on the information to others with similar health situations.

Lori is right...never stop trying to find an answer. We are truly blessed to live in this day and age with so many health treatments available to us. With that said, it's absolutely exhausting and nerve wracking to be constantly searching for the answer, so sometimes you have to take a break from it all. It's also hard when you start to realize that modern medicine still has a LONG way to go, even with all the wonderful things it has to offer. Nevertheless, keep up the good fight...I will be fighting right alongside you!

Now...BACK AWAY from the computer!!! :whip:

Take care of yourself,

Angela

P.S. You're right about the prednisone giving you boundless energy! You're going to be like the Energizer Bunny at the VA conference! Enjoy it while it lasts! :bounce8:

HI Tawnya

I'm glad you're home. You'll definitely be in my thoughts and prayers. I can't believe you blacked out at the hospital and no one came until much later. You poor thing!

I'm so glad you'll still make it to the conference.

Get a lot of rest so you feel better soon.

Angela

Hey Tawnya,

I don't know how I missed the majority of this conversation since they let you out of the slammer, but I did ... I guess I need to make sure I read back far enough when checking new posts.

I have a hard time calling it a night and "retiring" at conferences. I'm always afraid I'll miss something, so you can bounce off the walls in my direction all you want. Karri said the two of you might even be in an adjoining room or next door do Dee and I. Now that's dangerous :angel_not:

Only two weeks to go, so get lots of rest.

Warmest regards,

Terry

Geesh!

I figure getting rid of that ex and a nice lottery win will fix you right up.

If that's not possible - Some nice walks on the beach and a fun trip to Dallas.

Tawnya,

Does Canada have a different calendar than the one the rest of us use  ? I thought September only had 30 days  .

In all seriousness, a very big Congratulations to your divorce date finally being set.
