Wow, your right! I am VERY new to this forum - in fact this is my first response! BUT, I wanted you to know that I am very intersted in the marketing aspect of the VA business.

I come from a real estate background, then got my paralegal license, and then went into the marketing aspect of the legal industry. At this point, I work for a court reporting company handling the marketing (focusing in the legal industry) aspect of the company.

I would love to start my own business, but don't know where to start!

What are you doing?

So, where do we start? What specifically will we be discussing here? Marketing assistance for Virtual Assistants? Or Virtual Assistants who give internet marketing support to clients?

Since my clients hire me because I am a Certified Internet Marketing Specialist, I thought this would be a great niche for VAs too.

Services which we could talk about that I perform for my clients are:

Complete SEO (search engine optimization) of your website

Web traffic analysis

Website Usability Study

Keyword Research

Pay Per Click

Competitor Analysis

Newsletter Campaigns

Backlinking Strategies

Press Release Writing & Submissions

Niche Article Writing & Submissions

Blog & Podcast Submissions

Networking/Online promotions

Online Branding

Product Packaging

1shoppingcart.com setup/maintenance

Affiliate programs

Managing & Marketing to Affiliates

Joint Venture campaigns

Hello all,

I found this Niche. Looks like this is the way I am heading. I am really loving my creative marketing and PR side and as I was mentally listing my strengths, this looks like the way I'm headed.

Looks like the first post was awhile ago. I'd like to jumpstart this thread again. Are you all game? Tawnya, I love your list. Wanna start with the first topic and make a go of it?

Hi Lisa,

As Internet Marketing is my niche too, I would love to see some things going on here. The services we provide, or can, are so specialized. While I don't do most of the technical ones that Tawyna does, like SEO, this niche has its own quirks and a lot of stuff you need to learn. My biggest hurdle has been in finding people to help me who have some idea of things like shopping carts, squeeze pages, opt-in boxes, etc.

So, let's get a discussion going!

Hi Jeannette,

I am going to be the most inexperienced person on this topic by far. I am hoping to learn more. I am wanting to do a career change - not only as a VA but in marketing and PR. I have excellent skills in creating a buzz, in my community. But with the internet... whwwweeewww, it's a big community.

Hey Lisa,

Don't worry about being inexperienced in this niche. We all had to start sometime! I happened into this niche quite by accident, but it's pretty interesting. I never knew about all this stuff, but learned and I'm still learning! :)

The internet is a big place, but once you get more involved in this niche, you'll find out that it's not that big. Everybody seems to know everybody else!

I'm going to probably the best Internet Marketing seminar the end of next week. It's called Big Seminar and this will be my fourth time going. I've learned a lot and the networking is fantastic! I'll be sure to pass along anything cool I've learned!

Let me know if you have any specific questions about this niche.

Internet Marketing for small businesses, start up VAs and the machining industry are my niche and target markets.

I think this will be a great topic!

Jeanette, would you please post the details of the seminar? Is it online or in person and what are the details? We LOVE that kind of thing around here!

Hi Anita,

Big Seminar is put on twice a year by Armand Morin, probably one of the biggest names in Internet Marketing. You can learn more about his seminar, held in Atlanta, by going to www.bigseminar.com. I've made some good contacts by going there, and also got to meet some of my clients face to face for the first time!

Hi Jeannette,

Thank you so much for posting the seminar information. Like a number of us in this thread, I've found my niche, finally, and would love to attend more seminars, training, and workshops on becoming a Internet marketing va specialist. Thank so much for posting hte website. Happy Friday :-)

Hi all! I have not spent alot of time here but came on and first thread I found was this one!

I also am currently a VA specializing in Internet Marketing. I hate using the term "virtual admin" or "virtual assistant" when I speak about what I do because it doesn't really fit..I don't really want to sound like I am an "assistant'..I really am a virtual internet marketing manager for my various clients though I don't use that title. My niche is the wine industry. I have serveral winery clients I work for doing everything from website updates to business development, wine club management and more! I also have a gift company as client I do the same type of work.

I love what I do because I get to do work I used to do "on the job" from the comfort of my home. The hardest part is juggling my clients and making sure I give each client enough time.

I would love to know from the rest of you exactly what type of jobs you do for your clients.

Patty
