I'm working on a website for my boyfriend here tonight and need to see if the photo gallery is working. I am not sure what browser versions it will work on. So far it seems to work on Netscape, Opera and IE versions 5.0 and higher however not sure of anything lower. Fact is, client likes it whether it works for lower versions or not so we are keeping it but my curiousity was up. Please take a look if you have time. http://www.aclickintime.com/cgi-bin/emAlbum.cgi

I had a ton of fun setting up this cgi script and can see tons of uses for it. I am finally almost done this website...yeah!

Hi Tawnya:

This looks pretty neat. How did you find the emAlbum? How easy, hard, was it for you to use and adapt to your website?

Also, on the nav bar at the top. Do you use a specific program for this or do you have a script? Did you write the script yourself, or is there a place I can find it on the Internet?

The website looks terrific, very professional, as usual. :D

P.S. It looks fine on Mozilla, IE, and Netscape from my computer.

OK. I dusted off a couple of “antique” browsers, Netscape 4.74 and 6.23. The page loads in Netscape 4, but returns an error 400 (Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.) when one of the image groups is selected. This browser is over 6 years old, and it has really poor support for modern standards. The page displays and functions perfectly in Netscape 6.

Unsolicited comments: Your header is beautiful, and you did a fantastic job at optimizing the images in the gallery!

HTH,

Carol

Thanks everyone for testing this photogallery. This is my beau's business and in all honesty if people aren't uptodate with their browsers, they no doubt don't have the money to buy one of our planes anyhow so its not an issue it doesn't work in 4 but was curious nonetheless...thanks Carol!

As for the navigation script, yes I found it on the net and its free for use Naomi, here's the link: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/hvmenu/

If you have any probs setting it up, email me Naomi. I also use it for my main website http://www.mediamage.com It's fairly versatile and works well for being free ;)

The album is here and free as well: http://www.emAlbum.com If you know cgi at all it is a cinch!

The way I dived into it was by deciding to design an auction site online. I downloaded the script and followed the instructions. I read many forums, tutorials on the net that I found by typing in "cgi tutorials" into search engines. CGI scripts are not used as much anymore and I would recommend learning PHP instead as it a much better format than slow sluggy cgi. http://www.php.net

I tend to use cgi however since it is what I know best. I have dabbled a bit into PHP and recommend learning that instead of cgi as its possibilities in the future on limitless.
