Tammy Sistek, one of our longtime VANA Community members, recently published a new book called How to Talk to Your AI, and I had the chance to read it almost as soon as it arrived.
It showed up around dinnertime, and I ended up reading the whole thing before bed.
My cats, Honda and Suzuki, were clearly less impressed with where my attention went for the evening. 😂
That photo pretty much sums it up.
What I loved about the book is that it is not another book about writing the perfect prompt.
It is about learning how to actually work with AI.
How to communicate with it, guide it, question it, push back on it, and use it more like a collaborator in your business instead of something you just throw prompts at.
That is such an important shift.
A lot of people still use AI like a search box. They type something in, hope for a great answer, and get frustrated when it gives them something generic, weird, or completely off track.
Tammy’s approach is different.
She shows how much more useful AI becomes when you learn how to build a working relationship with it over time.
Meet Chip
Tammy calls her AI “Chip,” and throughout the book you get to see how that relationship developed.
There are real conversations, mistakes, funny moments, and examples of how she learned to get better results simply by changing the way she communicated with AI.
That is what makes the book so relatable.
It is not about becoming a prompt engineer.
It is about becoming a better communicator.
Why I Recommend It
If you are already using AI in your business, this book will likely change the way you think about it.
And if you are still trying to figure out how AI fits into your business, it gives you a much more practical way to approach it.
Every business owner using AI should read this book.
Every business owner needs a Chip by their side. 💜
I also got an extra little kick out of the acknowledgement at the end.
Apparently some of the conversations Tammy has had with me and members of the VANA Community about the weird, frustrating, and sometimes downright ridiculous things AI gives us helped spark the idea for the book.
So according to Tammy, the fact that this book exists is technically partly our fault. 😂
