Welcome Rober! You might want to start a new thread though, so people can see this and we focus on... you!

Hey Tim, that's awesome! Welcome to the community. I look forward to seeing what you bring to the table! Any questions, just ask. And make sure to look through all the sections that interest you. There's a LOT of great info here to help you along your journey. :)
  3. Hey all, I'm a pretty techie person (I build computers too!), so just putting it out there if you have any questions about any hardware (CPU, graphics cards, etc) or any software installations, go ahead and ask and I'll see how I can help!

Hey Hannah, welcome to the forums! Wow, only 16 and already running a business? Good for you! Keep it up and you'll be very successful long term. Have a happy day!
  5. Yeah Squarespace is fine, but WordPress is far superior in my opinion. But Squarespace still has a lot to offer, just not my first choice.
  6. Thank you both Danielle and Julian! We can all learn from one another and am looking forward to it as well.

Hey Paula, welcome! Well, you're certainly in the right place if you want all kinds of info to help you get started. If you haven't yet, I suggest you start here: https://www.vanetworking.com/free-stuff You will find all kinds of free resources to help you get started on your VA journey. And then you can check out this link as well: http://www.vanetworking.com/become-a-virtual-assistant And of course, feel free to search around the forums as there is a LOT of great information and you can find pretty much anything here. Either do a search, or just go through the different sections. It may seem overwhelming at first, so just start at the very beginning and what you're most interested in for your business. And ask any questions you may have as well. Take care!
  8. Thanks Tawnya! I agree, WordPress is just very user friendly and also very adaptable and easy to modify once you get the hang of it. Definitely my favorite today. Joomla used to be my favorite of the past, but it's much harder for a beginner to get into, so WordPress has taken over for ease of use for my clients

    I'm trying out Divi

I love Divi and have been using it for years. It's definitely evolved over time as I'd been with Elegant Themes even before Divi was around! But you can do so much with it and while it's not the only thing I use, I find a lot of clients prefer it over most things, so I just go with it

You can link BOTH the photos and the name. The more options they have to go to your services page, the better!
  11. Some great free tools I like are: Project Management: ClickUp, Trello and Asana. Clickup being my #1 as it combines the best of both Asana and Trello. Graphics: Canva - the free version is great for social media graphics and a ton of other things. Productivity: Google Drive and Dropbox Email Marketing: Mailchimp (up to 2000 subscribers), Mailerlite (up to 1000 subscribers) There's lots more, but that's a start. Hope that helps!
  12. There are so many different website creators and builders out there now, so which would you choose? I'll make a list of some them out there, but if you have one that isn't listed or prefer doing it all from scratch, let us know! Wordpress Squarespace Joomla Wix Weebly iPage Webs Built in web builders like with GoDaddy Commerce builders like Shopify
  13. Hey Mark, thanks! Haha you just might be the best at Canva - we can have a Canva-thon and see who wins lol! But just like with anything, there ALWAYS something to new to learn, so we probably can find some new tricks from others. Awesome! Glad to see I wasn't the only Joomla fan!
  14. @markofapproval Oh I didn't realize you were in Australia! I've always wanted to go there. That sucks about the prices though I haven't heard of Vectr, but a GREAT vector program alternative to Illustrator is Inkscape!
  15. It's been awhile since there has been a new post in this section, so let's get it going again! Whether you are new to graphic design or a veteran, what are your favorite programs and tools? There are SO many programs out there and some are specialized, so go ahead and choose your favorites. I'll go first! 1. Adobe Illustrator - This is by far my favorite program. I use this strictly for logos, icons and creating 2D graphics from scratch. Illustrator is great for creating vector graphics, which will let you retain their size without losing quality. There is still sooo much more I need to learn about it as it's ever changing. 2. Adobe Photoshop - My second favorite program for editing images and enhancing photographs. Auto batch editing in Photoshop is also a dream. You can create all kinds of things in photoshop! 3. Canva - Canva is an awesome alternative and great for businesses. I use canva to make tons of social media graphics, infographics, e-books and more. It's very user friendly and a great starting point if you are new to graphic design. Those are pretty much the only 3 that I use, because I can do everything I need to do in them. There's also InDesign, which is great for posters, e-books and various layouts. I haven't gotten into it much, but it's highly recommended. Let's hear your favorites!
