As business owners, we start to create this fabulous business plan of having our business online and how to go about doing so, smooth sailing with no bumps on the straight road ahead. Was I wrong to think this because, during this path, it's like I started from Z and not A! Today I want to share 5 things I wish I had known: 1. I wish I had known that Virtual Assisting was an industry a year ago and you can make money online. 2. I wish I had known that when I started out Virtual Assisting that I could not only offer Administrative services alone. I have to keep on learning. 3. I wish I had known that I could start networking my services in social media platform, such as joining groups and finding clients there too. 4. I wish I had known that having more than one income, such as passive income, would be handy when you have off days and no clients to tend to. 5. I wish I had known that I would need to build and create a list from day one. What are some things you wish you had known when you started your business? They do not have to be 5, it could be more or less but let's share our "I wish I had known". Thank you.
Hello All! I am a NEW VA with LOTS of valuable professional experience from my previous employment. I am confident in my value and those who know me also know my value. In NO way am I patting my own back and giving myself kudos, BUT rather it quite the opposite. I have expressed interest from potential clients, but No clients as of yet. If I was looking for a VA, and not really knowing her potential, but like her experience and background I would be open to a "Test-Drive" prior to buying. I feel this is a WIN-Win for both of us. Benefits to the client are obvious. My benefit: it will put me on the VA map, its an opportunity to prove my value, it will create a valuable testimonial and in turn will attract others to pay for my services. I am sure there are lots of other benefits. I want to offer a "Test-Drive" to a local small business owner but not sure how to propose it or create the details around the offer. So this is where I REALLY need your HELP by giving your advice, suggestions, recommendations and or Resources. I would LOVE to hear about your experience with offering a "Test-Drive" to a potential client. Should I offer my services to a potential client for FREE? How long do I provide services for? 30-60-90 days? What services do I offer? For example, do I do everything on their list or ask what their immediate needs are and provide services for the top 1-2 needs? What are some examples of the dialogue between me and the potential client? In other words, I want the potential client to see the value and benefit of this offer. Thanks so much in advance! I am working full time as an admin assistant with more than 20 yrs experience and ready to work from home. I am investigating the VA business and I know I have services, skills to offer businesses. I am trying to decide on a name for my .com site; any suggestions? I left work early and listened to the webinar Tawny gave on getting started. Took lots of notes, but still investigating.
