One of the biggest reasons people fail with running their own business is lack of focus. It has cost me a lot over the years. Sometimes it’s good to take perspective and look at how you spend your time. Such a way of doing this is by use of apps. Okay, so no app will be responsible for increasing your productivity, but they are great ways of tracking it. Two of the clear winners, in my opinion, are Rescue Time and Toggl. Both of these apps track your time, but in different ways. Rescue Time sits quietly in the background while you are working at your computer. The power of this tool is that it monitors all the sites you visit and also looks at how many times you're switching between sites. Toggle on the other hand is a stopwatch or a countdown timer that actually looks at how long you’re spending on a particular task. One thing I love about toggle is that when you move away from the computer, and forget to switch it off, it will stop itself and resume when you return. The beauty is that both these tools have a free starter version. The paid versions are very affordable too! When I have an app holding me accountable, I'm also more likely to focus. What apps do you recommend and why? Do you have any secrets you’d like to share in regards to how you increase your productivity? I definitely have found my own secret weapon which I’ll announce shortly.
Hi there! I have a client who would like for me to handle their Instagram account as part of the social media I do for them. I am having a hard time figuring out how to make this work from my PC as I do not have a phone that has the Instagram app. I have two questions: 1) If I were to have a phone, I would have my own account. Is it possible to switch back and forth from my account and my clients account? 2) What is your favorite app for the PC to use Instagram? From what I have found, there are a few and some of them are limited. Thank you in advance for your help! I have known about VA forums for a while now but am new to this site as of today. Happy to be here! May your day be filled with greatness, Sarah
Does anyone know of any drawing apps that allow a user to save a file in a format that is editable? For example, if I took my tablet out to the field and started a drawing, is there an app that would allow me to bring it home and edit it without having to redraw and erase? Thanks for your help...Denise
I have a client who is looking for a good database app. He is currently looking at getting tablets for putting in his trucks for his employees to enter data on the spot. Since he hasn't purchased anything it could be on Ipad or any other type of tablet. I was wondering if anyone has used and had good success with an app that allows the creation of a custom database. The data he tracks also requires the employee to draw a picture of the work they performed; it would just need to be a simple drawing with color. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
