  1. Hi, everyone! My name is Amber, and I'm here because I'm exploring a career as a virtual assistant. I plan to get my business going in January of next year, and only part-time at first. I currently have a full-time "traditional" job that I can't afford to leave. If anyone has ever done VA work part-time while juggling other jobs ("virtual" or not), I would like to hear about your experiences!
  2. I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Maralee and I am very very new to the VA idea. Still going through the free resources available on the site and am getting a TON of information. My poor brain is a little overwhelmed but I am really really wanting to stay home and be able to make my own schedule while having fun and being able to help people. Getting started does anyone have any tips and tricks for free or cheap programs to start out with? As we don't have a ton of money to throw at this, and my hubby is not for sure convinced I will stick with it. Which is kind of fair as I keep getting ideas and run with it for a little bit and then stop So any advice would be so appreciated! Thank you so much!

But I am also a cold blodded IT person. I love technologies especially technology that makes things easy and beneficial to mankind. I come to realize, why not put up VA services? So I started lurking through the internet. I search VA in youtube, there's alot search-return, but I chose your VAnetworking video. Got into it, get it on the link, and here I am. I only have a general knowledge of what a VA assistant is, but I don't know the "how to's" nor how to run this type of business. So, I accepted the challenge. So I started looking for answers. On a more personal note: What City/Town/State/Country are you from?: currently a resident of Santiago City, province if Isabela, Philippines. Are you married? 4. Hi my name is Patricia and I am from Trinidad, West Indies. I have a 4 yr old son and I am not married as yet. I left my job February of last year and started a handmade jewelry business in August. It has proven to be very tough and takes alot of my time. I would much prefer to do it to make some extra monies on the side. I started working with my friend Keiva who has a small business and I heard about the forum from her. I don't have any experience at all in this field, so this is a stepping stone for me to have a life where I can spend all the time I need with my son. I hope to learn alot from all of you.
  5. Hello everyone, Can not wait to connect with you all, My name is Latoyia Anderson, my website is http://latoyiaanderson.com I have just started being a VA a little under 6 months, I am a Pinterest Virtual assistant and I would like to offer other VA services still deciding on which ones are the best to offer. I am from Norfolk, VA I am married with 4 children just had my youngest one in Jan and we decided I should stay home to take care of her and now I am facing some issues with how the online working from home field works since it so very new to me and none of the experience I have working outside of the home relates to the online community I am in need of some assistance. I love writing I published a book, I love to eat so I love to cook as well but not a well as my husband lol I heard about Tawnya through searching for virtual assistant facebook groups. So I started my work from home journey through the work at home woman website and landed a job through her newsletter of job leads, I purchased a Pinterest course through one of her articles as well and started my blog, however when applying for VA jobs I am getting turned away because my website is geared towards my blog. I got everything all wrong and I want to get on the right track and do things the right way. So if any of you lovely VA's can help me that would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Hi Everyone, I'm Debbie Dey. I've been an administrative assistant in the non-virtual world for over 37 years (How did that happen?!) I am currently working a full-time day job as an AA for a residential home builder and work for the president and two executive vp's. I just celebrated my 29-year anniversary there, so I guess they like me. I've been a freelance writer, as a second career, for the last five years. I started out ghostwriting for content mills and now have a few established clients where I've earned several bylines with blogs, website content, press releases and marketing. I've struggled with trying to establish a writing niche (so far I've marketed myself as a generalist) in areas such as real estate, DIY, tourism, career advice or relationship/lifestyle blogger. As I try to narrow my expertise into one or two categories, the same thing keeps coming up - I'm an administrative assistant (and a good one!) Today, it finally hit me - I should become a Virtual Assistant! I'm absolutely not ready to give up my day job nor do I want to stop freelance writing, but I'm hoping to combine both skills into a lucrative online VA job. I'm anxious to learn all I can about this amazing career path and look forward to some expert guidance from those that have gone before me. Most of my time has been committed to finding and writing for clients, so my blog has been geared toward maintaining an online presence. It's filled with a few of my own posts but primarily re-blogs interesting topics from others. My website is debbiedeywrites.wordpress.com. If you're interested, you can view samples of my own work by selecting the Portfolio tab or clicking here. I'd love to connect with some VA specialists through this website and forum to grow my own business and provide administrative support so clients can grow theirs. Thanks in advance for the support. Debbie
