  1. I was wondering when I should start learning about adding on a subcontractor. I want to learn as much as possible as soon as possible, so I would like to know how they work and the math behind earning from them. I.e. What I can expect to pay and have them do, how I can make profit from them, when to add one on? ETC. All information will be greatly appreciated!
  2. A few years back while I was doing my part-time subcontracting business a mentor told me it a round about way it wasn't successful. I felt like she was looking at numbers only. I admit, I could probably be doing more but guess what? Since I've been providing these services part-time I'm able to take my family this winter to Disney world. I'm pretty pumped. It's neat to show the kids small goals can be accomplished you don't have to eat the elephant first. Take things slow. For those of you multi-VAs providing the work, good for you. Look what a difference you're making. I need more content for my blog so is this a topic I should journal? Is that boring and OK to have a personal side of things on my blog?
  3. I promised my client, who owns a cloud based virtual desktop, I'd do some research within the VA industry about benefits. Would some of you please chime in. Let me know how you think a virtual desktop on a private server could help your VA business. The way it works is you log into a virtual desktop that's backed up and stored on a cloud server. It's not Google, Amazon or some of the big names it's a smaller company. Not only can you log into the desktop but your client can too. We're just looking for some simple key benefits it could provide the VA industry. Also let me know if you currently use a company similar to this. Thank you.
  4. I will need to be setting up interviews for a podcast. Rather than going back and forth I've seen people use applications you can see when someone is available and schedule. There is a free one called "when is good." Has anyone used it or have other suggestions for a reasonably priced one?
  5. I've been a VA and the subcontractor for other VAs for eight years. It's given me the understanding that the multi-VA firm needs subcontractors like myself. My site provides resources on the subcontracting topic anywhere from tools, where to get people and projects, inspiring stories, training, conferences and lots more. http://savvysubcontracting.com/ebook
  6. Wow! This year has been a year of incredible growth for my company, and my team. Unfortunately, it has been a year of many struggles as well. My recent one, finding virtual assistants that are honest and reliable to join our team. One after another I have brought on people on to my team with some incredible skills, work history, and seemingly great customer service skills. People practically begging for work from the start, but basically disappearing once they accept the new projects I give them. I keep changing my interview/screening process to add more to it to try to cyphen out the "bad one's", nothing seems to be working! I need to make some changes before these dishonest, unreliable virtual assistants keep making a bad name for my team and the entire industry. I only bring team members on when the work allows for it, and I start them off with a smaller project to see how it goes before giving them anything big. Any recommendations? What works for you? Desperately seeking some clear answers! And I know I can always could on the VA Networking gals to shed some light on the situation!
  7. As our VA businesses grow, and we take on more clients, obviously the work load grows as well. This forum is all about those who have enough work they are either outsourcing, subcontracting and/or have multiple VA's as part of their Team - all to help in getting the work done. I'm curious as to how you are managing the work and those whom you use to help you get that work done. What system or method do you use to keep track of and manage the work you either outsource, subcontract and/or assign to other VA's within your business? Do you use a project management system? Do you use a spreadsheet? Do you use email? Do you have a project manager that handles all the details of each project from start to finish for you? Can't wait to read your replies!
