  1. Hi There, I have a client who operates outside the US. She is in the process of publishing a book, but is wondering what is the best way for her to receive payments for book sales in her native currency rather than in US dollars. Does anyone know if PayPal or some other format would work best?
  2. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL THE SUGGESTIONS! THIS GIVES ME QUITE A BIT TO WORK WITH. I TRULY APPRECIATE ALL THE INPUT!
  3. Hi there, I am working with a client who is creating a series of newsletters for one of her clients. The client has asked her to take the newsletter she created and transfer it from regular text to HTML. Can anyone recommend any software to sites we can go to that can assist us with this conversion? Thanks! Catherine
  4. Thanks SO MUCH for the suggestions! I will definitely look at LogMeIn and I'll let you know how it worked out! Catherine
  5. Hey everyone, I'm looking for some suggestions. I'm working with a long time client and since we've been working virtually more and more often, she'd like me to look into finding a software program that would allow both of us to access her computer remotely. I've looked at Gotomypc since we already use Gotomeeting, but I'm not sure if Gotomypc allows more than one person to access the computer at the same time. Does anyone know for sure or can you suggest any other software options? Thanks so much!!! Catherine
  6. Hey everyone, Not sure if anyone has heard about this book as yet but it's wonderful! I got my copy in the mail today and am very excited - there is a wealth of information provided and I think that every entrepreneur would find it useful! There are tons of websites covering a ton of categories - all of them very useful in some way. You can find out more at http://smallbusinessthatcould.com/for-women/.
  7. Thanks so much for the advice! Sorry about the miscommunication - the information you provided is just what I was looking for!
  8. Hi Amanda, Welcome! I am also an aspiring VA residing in PA. This is a great site and you will gain TONS of knowledge and help. Good Luck!!! Catherine
  9. Hey everyone, I'm working with a client at the moment who has a number of word documents that she would like to code so that they can be easily retrieved at a later date. She is a consultant and is planning on passing on these documents to one of her clients. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas? Thanks much! Catherine Martin-Santiago Executive Marketing Assistant & Aspiring VA
  10. Thanks Lin! I'll be sure to check this site out. I'm an aspiring VA and this looks like an avenue that I should definitely pursue. Catherine
  11. Hi everyone, My name is Catherine and I'm a Freelance Executive Assistant. I'm about to transition to the Virtual Assistant world and your site was highly recommended while conducting my online search by a number of Virtual Assistants and VA Organizations so I signed up right away! I don't have a website set up as yet, but I plan to set up my business soon. I've been an Executive Assistant for the past 10 years and have been self-employed for about the same time. I have provided support for a number of independent consultants and small businesses over the years, with a wide range of different services (Strategic Marketing, Feng Shui Consultant, Hip Hop Promotion, Marketing & Event Planning, Executive Coaching, etc.). I specialize in General Administration, Word Processing, Meeting & Event Planning support, Organization, Desktop Publishing, Database Management, Calendar/Appointment Management, etc. I got married recently (December 2008) and moved from New York to Pennsylvania where my husband is from. This move pushed me to really focus on the Virtual Assistant business that I had been thinking about starting for some time now. Commuting 6 hours (round trip) to New York every day just didn't work for me and my husband is disabled so I need to be close to home to provide him with support. I have one stepson (my husband had joint custody) so I became an instant mom, since I don't have any kids of my own, and we have a puppy named Curly who is our 2nd child. In my spare time I love to read, spend time with family and friends and I REALLY enjoy party planning. I've been doing this unofficially for years for my friends and myself. I've planned birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, anniversary parties - you name it, I've done it! I've also done some event planning on a professional level - 50th birthday party for a client, "day of" wedding consultant for a friend of a friend. I look forward to starting my business and I am very pleased that I have your support and expertise to turn to. Starting a business is a daunting task but I believe that I can do it and I know that I'll get all the help I need for this website. Thank you and I look forward to networking and getting to know other VA's.
