  3. Hi Jamie, Welcome. I'm also a newbie VA. I just recently joined the VA Insiders club and would recommend it whole heartedly. I especially like the web seminars that they haved posted up on Marketing and Business sense. You should definitely look into it. I anticipate that you will definitely enjoy being a VA in comparison to healthcare admitting. PS. I like your website. I like how you used humor to engage those who are reading through it.

  7. I feel a bit betrayed. Actually A LOT! I've been working as a virtual assistant for a family member in his small business which focuses in Marketing to medical professionals and clinics. So basically I'm a CRM for him, but my specialty has always been Medical Practice Management. I only accepted to work with him because clients for Medical Practice Management has been scarce. So now this family member just started working with a physician and promoted that his company does Medical Practice Management and he has no idea how to do it. So now he's calling me and asks me how to do it himself!?! I don't want to lose him as a client but I don't feel that what he's doing is right. I really want to professionally tell him off. Any advise on how to handle this? I apologize if what I've wrote sounds confusing, I'm just too agitated to make it all make sense.

  9. Hi Everyone, I was wondering if there are any VAs that do Staff Recruitment? If so how do you price for this service? Thanks in advance. :-) Tracy Aguero Office Ditto, LLC
  10. Hi, I was just recruited by my previous employer to develop some marketing materials (brouchures and fliers in English and Spanish, and a monthly newsletter). This service was not something that I had imagined doing and don't know how I would gauge pricing. If anybody can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. 11. One more thing my Client & I need to be able to utilize the system at the same time...
  12. Hi my fellow VAs: I've been looking for call reporting system that I can use with my client. Does anyone know of any good ones. I'm a medical CRM Consultant & I need a system that has attention to detail.

  14. So I recently started my virtual assisting business after getting laid off from my corporate job and have been working steady with one client so it's not bad. But working from home has taken a toll on me. I do professional work but I don't feel very professional when I leave my bedroom to go to my desk. I don't know if it's that I'm not wearing my usual work attire or what. I found myself going to Barnes & Noble today just to have some human interaction, change in scenery, and to get away from my dogs at home. I feel just so.... blah! I'm sure I'm not alone in this and just wanted to see if I could get some feedback from other virtual assistants that is going through this or have gone through this and what you've done to overcome this feeling.
  15. Thanks Amanda. I'll definitely look into renter's insurance this week. I hope it's as affordable in this area.
  16. I'm working from my apartment so unfortunately I cannot go through homeowners' insurance. But thank you gals for your feedback.
  17. I've started my business and have begun to buy some pricey equipment and software and would like to insure it. Where could I find a policy that is comprehensive and affordable? Thank you to everyone in advance for your input and advice.
  18. I officially started my VA business 2 weeks ago and was just approached yesterday by potential client that owns a start-up production company :-) So I broach the topic about pay with him and he tells me to name my price. Now since this is my first client, I'm not completely sure how to charge him and I don't want to sell myself short. I have decided that my hourly rate will be $25/hr and was also thinking of charging in 15 min increments since I'm only doing this part-time for now. But how does that work? Do I charge $6.25/15 min? And if my client needs me on location, lets say on a Saturday or Sunday, do I charge a day rate? Please advise?
  19. Thank you all for your sound advise. I definitely feel more confident taking on this project.
  20. Thank you Ruth. I had just updated my original posting and added that she wanted an SEO writing sample, but that I've never done one before. I never offered writing services. So what do I do now?
  21. Hello everyone, I'm brand new to virtual assisting and am currently employed as an Office Manager, but am looking to branch out on my own. I have just received an email from a potential client that has offered me to be Virtual Office Manager and to respond with a SEO writing sample. She didn't specify on anything else. I've never done one before, but I know what they are and how to do one. So what do I do to prove that I'm qualified? Please bear with me, I know I'm very green in this area, but I'm great at what I do, I just need to know how to present it properly and I don't want to lose this client. Thank you in advance. Tracy
