  3. I have a client who wants to purchase an existing business and is asking me to help her write a Grant for funding. I don't have a problem with helping my client write the grant, however, I am clueless when it comes to who and how to find those people/organizations that would potentially fund my client in purchasing this existing business. My client prefer's to find funding versus traditional lending. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
  4. Patty It's interesting that you should ask that question. Just the other a friend of mine asked me if I provided a resume to clients and I told her that I didn't. She asked me if I would be offended if a client asked for my resume and although I had to think about it for a few minutes, my answer was ultimately No. My credentials are a reflection of me, what skills I possess and the experience that I have to offer. If I am asked, in the future, to provide a resume, I would have to really think whether or not it would be pertinent. I would definitely provide the potential client with a list of referrals if that would help the client to make a decision on whether or not to use my services.

  6. Hi All I've been busy these last few weeks and wanted to wish everyone a Successful 2011. My question is: If you could bring one character to life from your favorite book, who would it be and why? I'd love to know. Thanks
  7. Welcome to VAnetworking. This is a great organization. Ask questions and someone will always give an answer. Good luck!
  8. Amanda The Bible says: (John 15:7) If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. Keeping this in mind, call upon HIM and ask what you desire and it will be done for you. I have prayed this prayer for you and your family. Warmest regards, Brenda

  10. Great advice. Here's my problem. I don't have a problem speaking with people that I "know", but when I have to speak in front of more than 10 people, my hands get clammy and I start to sweat. I know that it is nerves. Any advice to help me with this? Normally, I can talk up a storm. I love to joke with people, but can't understand my fear when there are more than 10 people in the room.
  11. Hello my name is Brenda Flenoy and I am proud and excited to announce that Virtual Horizons Unlimited has opened its doors to the Virtual World. Please visit us at My link. Virtual Horizons Unlimited was born out of a passion and spirit to partner with business professionals who want to share and contribute to the success of their businesses while maintaining a work/life balance. We offer general administrative support services, which include but are not limited to document preparation, calendar management, data entry, invoices, PowerPoint presentations and electronic file system setup and maintenance. We also specialize in New Business start-up, setting up and organizing files, creating brochures, business cards, letterhead, technical writing and editing services, just to name a few. On a more personal note I decided that it was time to move from Corporate America (25 years) to becoming a VA and being my own boss because I wanted the freedom to partner with people who are like-minded and who have a passion for the work they do. My “partner” in life is a fun-loving, gentle man who supports me and encourages me each and every day. We live 15 minutes from Houston, Texas and are extremely happy that summer is over. When we are not working, we enjoy “exploring our city”, watching movies (he loves the scary ones), sitting in the backyard early in the morning drinking coffee and being thankful for what we have. I am still working on my website (not procrastinating anymore and trying to have everything "perfect" - I still have images to upload and a few other surprises, so please feel free to take a look and let me know what you think. Regards, Brenda

  17. Love It. You did an incredible job. This is a personal thing for me, I am not sure I like the text under About Us, centered, but that's a personal thing. Great Job though.
  18. I agree with Candy, make the first line larger. You did a FANTASTIC jbo.
  19. Amanda It's like Linda said, first you have to breathe. Let's look at this from another perspective. I'm not sure what your "current" job is or if your current employer is in your niche, but is it possible that you may be able to offer your VA services to your employer? This may be a great opportunity for you, right under your nose. Your employer already knows who you are, they know your skill set and your work ethic. Think about it, they wouldn't have to train you, you already know the job, you know the personalities and you would know who you'd be working with. Offer them your services as a monthly retainer package. Just something to think about. Hope this helps.
  20. Judy Thanks for the info. I am so appreciative of the support and answers I receive. You guys are the BEST!!! Now I'm going to timidly attempt this (LOL)
