  1. Congratulations, he's soooo handsome. Love the name. Take care of you and the rest of your family.
  2. What a handsome man! Enjoy as much time as you can. My oldest is 7, but I can't believe that already. My youngest will be 4 in a couple of weeks. Sometimes I look at her and I think that she's only 2, but then I realize how old she actually is. They grow up WAY to fast!
  3. I completely agree with all of you. What is going on when kindergarden children are so angry. My daughter is in Grade 1 now, but last year we had to deal with bullying. I was completly shocked that a boy in grade 2 was threatening little girls in kindergarden to the point that he would hurt them if they told on him. These girls are the quietest girls. We finally did get to the bottom of it, but it is disturbing. What happened to the 'good old days' when the teacher was feared. When the parents disaplined their kids and mostly took the teachers side. I'm 40 years old and can't believe how much things have changed in the last 30 years since I was in elementry school. It is a parenting issue. Not the school. The teachers have a hard enough time just teaching, that is their job, not to parent. Parents need to be made accountable for their kids actions. Kids NEED boundaries, NEED love, not parental friends. They will have enough friends in their lives, they need parenting. I've already heard from both my girls that they don't like me. I just say ok! I know then that I'm doing the right thing. I'll get off my soap box now!
  4. Oh how I wish I could relate to your problem Carrie. I'm doing the VA thing, but with a 3 (just about 4) year old, a 7 year old after school, and a husband who works shift work. There are very few quiet moments in this house! But, saying that, we are starting (finally) to hit a comfortable rythmn here. When I need to work and/or use the telephone, they do cooperate (with a little bit of threatening!!!). But, I would have some sort of background noise, just to keep your sanity!
  5. Nothing is so sweet to the ears than to hear a child laugh, especially a deep belly laugh. I LOVE that sound. Too cute.
  6. I started just this past year. I was laid off due to downsizing for the 3rd time in 5 years. So, now with two young daughters (7 & almost 4) who hated going to the babysitters, and a husband who works shift work, life is wonderful. I am going to do anything I have to in order to get my business where I want to. I find that the craziness of the morning & evening rush is gone and life is smoother, less hectic. I have time to devote to everyone, including myself.
  7. Interesting results. Your daughter did a great job.
  8. Hi Paula, I just compeleted the survey. It is very quick! When I was finished it took me to the SurveyMonkey home page. I hope that means that she gets the responses from the survey. Carolyn
  9. Who won? Who won? The suspense is killing me!!!!!
  10. Welcome Darrell....this place is loaded with information. Good luck. Carolyn
  11. Congratulations Kari, I loved being pregnant. Of course I put on 50 pounds with each daughter. Alicia (my baby) is going to be 4 and I still feel like I need to loose the 'baby' fat. I miss those baby days, but couldn't imagine it now. Both my pregnancies were very different. The first was so easy, no morning sickness or anything. The second one I had morning sickness and was exhausted all the time. I had two girls!!! They of course are very different personalities, but that's the fun of it all. Best of luck.
