  1. Hi Bethberry, I've worked with Infusionsoft for 15 months and I love it! I have 3 clients who use it in various ways. There is definitely a learning curve but it's such a great package. Please tell me more...I can go on and on but I want to share my thoughts that can help you with your client. Jan
  2. My client just sent me the link to The Help: How I Work with a Virtual Assistant that is at the American Society of Journalists and Authors' blog. If you like to research and are interested in working with a journalist or business writer, check this out. Jan Virtual Assistant to Health Coaches Twitter: @JanUdlock LinkedIn
  3. Hi Tawnya, I think that's a great idea to see how it all works - it would be a great event for VAs to try too. And there's nothing wrong with blogging 3 or 4 times a week just to get yourself motivated. This will be my 4th year and every year my blog traffic goes up considerably. j
  4. Hi Danielle, It is a huge commitment - I'm managing the Blogathon and blogging (and have other VA clients, too...). It has been in May for the last 4 years but this year it's in June. However, next year I'm sure I'll be sharing about it again so I'll let you know. Prep work would really help anyone who's interested in joining. Stop by my blog, please. Jan
  5. I wanted to share about the 2013 Blogathon where you blog every day for the month of June. And it's FREE! I share on WordCount's blog today about what blogging did for me - started my VA biz! Please come by and leave a comment if you'd like! I'll share all about the Blogathon if anyone is interested. Last year we had 250 bloggers sign up. It's a long haul but it's so much fun! Jan Udlock
  6. From my experience in the virtual world, always remember email can sound abrasive so pick your words carefully. And don't react quickly when you read something in an email. Relax for a bit before you respond. j janudlock.com
  7. Hi Laurie, There's a PDX group that gets together once a month. Check it out over at VAForum. jan
  8. My client used it in for business. Very easy to use. I think you get 10 freebies signatures and then you have to pay for the next bunch. j
  9. You could always market yourself to writers. I've done some research for a business writer. jan
  10. Hi Danielle, I have a Mac laptop for 4 years and I would never go back to a PC. I had 2 pc laptops and they didn't last more than 15 months. I've written parenting articles for regional parenting pubs for the last 4 years and have never had an issue. I now am a VA and have 3 clients and have always been able to read everything. I'm able to resize photos easily. I've had 2 writer friends contact me and ask me to make a pdf of their article for storage purposes because their PC couldn't. I didn't have Word until just recently because with Pages any Word document automatically converts to Pages so I can read it or edit it. I've edited for a client for 3 years and the only thing I have to remember is to export the edited doc back into Word which is a total of 2 clicks. And since you know Word, just buy Word with it. I don't worry about viruses. My laptop is getting old - or slow - so I recently had to add memory to it. And as a mom in a family of 7, I understand budget so I don't take the expense of a Mac lightly - if you were to buy one, go ahead and buy the $300 Apple Care 3 year service on it. They will answer any questions you have and it's worth every penny. Get training on it if you live near an Apple store. My best suggestion is find a close friend or someone who has a Mac so you can ask your many questions - it will help your transition. We have 6 mac laptops and one iPad in the house. Let me know if you have any questions. j
  11. Hi everyone, I'm a VA to speakers and coaches and wanted to check back with VA Networking. I currently create and run email campaigns with Infusionsoft for a client, edit articles, blog posts and PR case studies for another client and create Tweets for another client. My website is going to be updated in January because I started off as a freelance writer writing parenting articles for regional parenting magazines throughout the US and Canada and now am enjoying my VA biz with all of its variety. Excited to be here and hoping to learn as well as share my expertise. Jan Virtual Assistant to Speakers and Coaches Website: JanUdlock.com Twitter: @JanUdlock LinkedIn profile
