  1. I hope you're having a wonderful time Tawnya! Sounds like you were headed to an amazing place to just relax and unwind. Sometimes we just have to get away and unplug for awhile. I just came back from my first vacation in 4 years that I didn't work every morning. Barely touched my laptop at all. It was HEAVEN!!!! Safe travels back!!
  2. I was looking through the archives but know that things in the techie world change fast. I'm wondering what everyone is using to sync Outlook between computers and their iPhone. Has anyone tried Sync2 lately?? It looks promising but I'd love to know if anyone has on-the-ground experience with it. Both my machines are running Windows 7 and I have the iPhone5. Thanks!!
  3. Hi Karryn! Flair indeed. I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE your energy! It sounds like you have a great plan in mind. I can't wait to see your new venture unfold. I'm following you now on Twitter so I have a front row seat. Best wishes!!
  4. Oh my goodness! I can't believe its Wednesday already. I still have a VAVS hangover. Really missing all the chatting and great learning sessions. Although having more time to play with all of the sample toys has been tons of fun. But you can be sure I'll be in every session I can in the fall when VAVS rolls back around. How's everyone else doing? Still suffering withdrawals or did you just fall right back into your routine? Actually the real question is "How did you do on Tawnya's quiz?" It was fun to revisit some of the more personal notes for the week. Just thought I'd check in while I have a moment. But now off to do that work that pays. I'll be checking back to see how you're all doing. I hope everything is going swimmingly this week for you. Cheers!!
  5. Oh man! I missed the final session. Real life intruded on my happy time in VAVS-ville. Darn it! So much we've learned and so many friends made. The follow up from this conference is going to be so much fun! I can't wait to keep networking with all of you. I have no doubt we can all continue to help each other out. Tawnya - I cannot even imagine the time and effort it takes to put something like this together. I bow to the the mistress of multi-tasking and VA coordination. You are AMAZING and I am so happy to have found this wonderful place you have founded for VAs. It has been a most amazing week. Danielle - You are indeed a supreme VA goddess. I aspire to be one too! Cheers my friends and compatriots! We have more tools in our arsenal than we could have wished for from this past week. Let's rock this thang!! Hugs to all
  6. Happy Friday everyone! It is the last day of VAVS. *sniff sniff*. This week has been an amazing journey of discovery for me. I started down the VA path because I thought it would be a good fit for my skillset and desire not to have to commute to the city again.. But this week has lit a fire under me. VAVS has given me not only validation that I made the right choice but a renewed passion and joy in my work that had been missing for quite a while. And I know now what a fabulous, supportive industry I've chosen. I feel like I joined a sorority of the best kind. 25 years of business experience and I FINALLY know what I want to be when I grow up. LOL But before I do that - I'm ready to rock Day 5!!!!!
  7. I don't know about anyone else but the closet techie in me LOVES trials. I'm sleep deprived this week because I keep playing with the "toys" after hours. So glad that the trials are long enough to really get a feel of the software. Now on to Day 4 of VAVS. I can't wait! Its another great lineup. See you in the Chat
  8. And thus Day 3 of VAVS ends....... Another stellar day of presentations. And I finally got myself up on Twitter so i could keep up with everyone. Better late than never I guess. So feel free to catch up with me there as well. I'm finding myself as a newbie trying to sort out the puzzle of which direction I want to take with softwares. So many techie toys out there to play with. So I pose this question - if you could set up your ideal suite of software, what would it be? * Would you go with Xero now that we know more? * Digital Sorbet is geared for VA's but would clients be more comfy with Google Apps or Basecamp? * OK, I think we would all love to get our hands on VA Office? * But what about InfusionSoft?? So many toys - so little time..........
  9. Hi Jaynae! Welcome to the forum (from another newbie). Your experience sounds very similar to mine. Are you currently a telecommuter or are your working on part of a VA team? Just curious. Can't wait to "see" you. Since my background (both skillset and industry) are so varied, I'm having trouble jumping the niche/target market hurdle. So I'm holding off on my website a bit. But I'll get there. Looking forward to getting to know you more and maybe sharing notes as we get things rolling. Cheers!!
  10. Hi Pam! Good to see another west coast newbie. And thank you for the welcome on my post too! We timed our entrance perfectly with VAVS going on this week. I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am. Feel free to connect with me on FB, LinkedIn or shoot me an email. i would love to share notes on where you are getting things rolling and maybe we can strategize a bit together. All I know is we found a great place for support and knowledge!! Let's rock Day 3.
  11. Thanks for the welcome! I'm so enjoying the VAVS conference. Its showing me two very distinct things: 1) I'm making the right decision venturing out on my own as a VA, and 2) I have a whole lot to learn along the way. I would love to meet up for some shopping and lunching at Tulalip. I don't get up to Vancouver as much as I used to. One of my former employer's ventures was up there. I loved my on-site visits there!! When I had the time, I took the train so I probably rolled right by you Tawnya! Now that I have my forum fix - its time to drag my tired eyes away from the screen.
  12. SUCCESS! Day 2 was every bit as amazing as Day 1. I'm now so glad I signed up as a Gold member because there was just too much information to digest all at once. I have a feeling I may be listening to a couple of the presentations 2 or 3 times to get the full effect. I'm so glad Tawnya reminds us every once in awhile to get up and move. I get so engrossed in the presentations and then the open chat - it's addictive!!! Although, with all that singular focus I could easily forget to eat. I KNOW I'm not snacking - Hmmmm.........this could be the best diet plan EVER!!! LOL
  13. Oh my goodness! Are we ready for Day 2?? I know I am even though I'm still jottng notes here and there about yesterday. I was talking with my husband last night telling him about the sessions yesterday and what I learned. He was amazed how comprehensive the sessions were. And I'm starting to get to know a few of you. I LOVE that!! Can't wait to meet more of you and dive into more lessons. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn, Facebook or send me an email. Heck! Do all three!! Let's rock Day 2!! See you on the general chat.
  14. WOW! The first two sessions totally ROCKED!! And I've been enjoying connecting with you all as well. Can't wait to connect more with you outside the sessions.
  15. I'm just getting started so my website and FB page are still under construction but I'm so looking forward to getting to know some other VAs. This is a very exciting week for me - exciting enough to wake up at 4:00am with my mind whirling with possibilities.
