  1. I had the same problem - got a few jobs but it took a long time and a lot of copy pasting. I also created a video explaining about my abilities and that helped. I also noticed people who have experience are more likely to selected which makes it hard for newcomers. I've made a Google Chrome Extension called LanceMate to make it less time consuming. It can search multiple sites and show jobs in one page, filter by extra options like Preferred Location and Client Location, setup automatic searches which give reminders, and fill proposals automatically. Have a look here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lancemate/allhoelmnojgbobjpbbdiohmhjaopcip I think you could search for jobs where Preferred Location is "North America".
  2. As far as I know and by order of preference: 1. RFPs - VA Networking - VAInsiders, IVAA 2. Freelance sites (look for preferred location as North America) 3. Craigslist (Posting and searching for telecommute jobs ) 4. Twitter (Search for "need a Virtual Assistant" as an example) 5. Facebook Posts + FB Advertising 6. Google Adwords for your website 7. Cold calling/emailing businesses 8. Self Promotion - Networking with friends, writing blogs, videos etc. to show up in google search results.
  3. Hi there, Happy New Year to one and all! If you or your VA firm feel that 1. You have projects that you don't have time to do or do not meet your costing requirements, or 2. You are looking for a VA to support your business such as posting on Craigslist, Freelance Sites, Email Marketing etc. on a regular basis. or, 3. You would like to partner and barter services. Please send me message and we can work on a trial basis. I a run a reliable, low cost but experienced agency; good at data entry, email handling, and English language skills; but not good at Wordpress, SEO or domain specific VA support. Regards, Deepak (www.shankglobalsolutions.net)
  4. Posting a few Part-Time WFH jobs that I came across but may not be able to apply for: http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeeker/Jobs/JobDetails.aspx?sc_cmp1=js_jrp_jobclick&APath=2.21.0.0.0&job_did=JHT4076S73T36LY6JSX&showNewJDP=yes&IPath=QAKTV http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeeker/Jobs/JobDetails.aspx?sc_cmp1=js_jrp_jobclick&APath=2.21.0.0.0&job_did=J3G5DY6F6XV16SM1NKR&showNewJDP=yes&IPath=QAKTV
  5. While browsing online for virtual jobs, I found some sites from forums which were posting virtual jobs and asking for membership fees. I just wanted to see if there is anyone who has used these sites for virtual work and whether it is worth the fees. http://telerepsathome.com http://www.teleworkrecruiting.com/ www.waywithwords.info http://acebarter.com/ Regards, Deepak
  6. Great website, wish you well! I really liked the Investment page although it wasnt clear what that meant initially.
  7. Hey Tawnya, My dad was very passionate in business and was instrumental in taking it off the ground and in inspiring me. I have personal interest in web applications and graphics and want to take it one step at a time by working for small businesses and other VA's. At the moment our team offers email support and clear cut tasks like data entry, document conversions and image editing. Hopefully I will learn a lot more from this community and share what I know. Thank you Clydene, I used to live in Folsom, CA for 2 years and its nice to see you are from Placerville.
  8. Hi there, I'm Deepak Mani, from Chennai, India. I studied Engineering in Michigan and then worked in Arizona and California for a few years before coming back to India 3 years ago. I've lived in the cold and the heat but really enjoyed living in the mid-west the most. We have a low-cost, but reliable offshore VA team and had been doing email support for a client in NY for a long time until the project got cancelled. I was browsing online for some ideas and found this site to be helpful and informative. Thanks for starting this forum!! Cheers, Deepak
  9. Hello everyone, My name is Deepak, a recent member. Our small team was contracting for a NY based cruise company and they had to cancel our project due to financial considerations. If you have any VA admin work that can be done offshore, please let me know. We use Live Person, MS Office, Photoshop and Google Docs and offer excellent rates and can provide references. Cheers!
