  5. Mary, the Golden Horseshoe Virtual Assistants Group is still going strong, but we now meet every month in Hamilton, as that's where the majority of our members are located. My busy schedule doesn't allow me to offer one-on-one help to new VAs, but you'll find a wealth of information here on the forum. Post any questions you may have in the appropriate section and someone is sure to answer quickly!

  7. Grimsby, Ontario – During the week of Monday, May 14 members of the Golden Horseshoe Virtual Assistants Group (GHVA), along with colleagues from all over the world, will celebrate the 2nd annual Global Virtual Assistants Week. The purpose of Global Virtual Assistants Week is to showcase and coordinate a worldwide celebration of the virtual assistant industry and to inform business owners and entrepreneurs of the benefits of working with a Virtual Assistant. Information for individuals interested in becoming a Virtual Assistant is also provided. In honour of the occasion, the GHVA will be participating at an event hosted by People in Connection at the Casablanca Winery Inn on Tuesday, May 15th. Representatives will be available to provide business owners with information about virtual assistant services and the ways they can benefit from working with a GHVA member. Business owners have begun to realize the advantages of retaining the services of a Virtual Assistant. The Virtual Assistant industry has seen tremendous growth over the past ten years as companies begin to understand the benefits of retaining a VA. Each VA is an independent business owner offering his or her own unique skills and talents, but one thing they all have in common is caring for the clients they work with. Ideally, a VA develops a long term partnership-type relationship with their clients, becoming familiar with the client’s business and understanding their challenges and overall goals. “My VA built my website, e-mails me media requests that suit my expertise, and provides me with many opportunities to advertise my business. What takes me an hour to figure out, she can have posted and beautifully written in minutes,” says Julie Stobbe of Mind over Clutter in Beamsville. In preparation for Global Virtual Assistants Week, GHVA members will be gathering in Burlington on Saturday, May 12. About the Golden Horseshoe Virtual Assistants Group The Golden Horseshoe Virtual Assistants Group was established in 2008 to provide local VAs with an opportunity to network face-to-face and share business ideas. Since that time, the group has grown from four members meeting four times per year, to over a dozen meeting each month. Members offer a wide range of administrative, creative, and technical services to small and large organizations both locally and around the world.
