  1. I posted this last September 11. I decide to repost it. I don't know about the rest of you, but this is what I remember from 9-11-2001. It was a Tuesday Morning, which was also an election day in the City of New York and it is also my brother's birthday. After voting, while walking back to my car, I happen to look up and across the skyline of Brooklyn, I had a clear view of the twin towers, I saw smoke. I called my brother and was going to tell him that the World Trade Center was on fire, he instead told me that a plane just flew into the tower, my next question was where is, "Deb", that's our sister she worked in the towers, he said she is leaving the building. I looked up again and I show an explosion, that was the second plane hitting the tower, I didn't see the plane hit I saw the explosion. I thought it was an electrical fire that was out of control. I had just finish working a 12 hour shift as a NYPD officer, so I went home and fell asleep. Around 4 pm, I heard my phone ring, it was my sister’s husband telling me he couldn't find my sister, I in turn told him about what I saw in the morning, he asked haven't I been looking at the News, my answer was, "No". He then went on to tell me about the twin towers falling, to say the least I was shock. On went the TV and I tried to reach my sister via cellphone, which at this time was dead in the city. I call my Police Command and told the situation, I told them I would respond to the scene, after I have located my sister. Four hours later my sister called me and said she was alright, but she was lost and could find her way home, she told me where she was and I told her how to get home. After locating my sister, I went to work, we as first responders worked 16 hours shift for the next two weeks without any days off, thereafter 12 hours shifts with two days off. I was one of the luck ones, my sister live to talk about her ordeal and many others didn't. One officer I worked with died that day, I still can't believe he is gone.
  2. I am back, I losted my password and I forget my logging in title.(lol). How could I forget that it so easy as making apple pie. Any ho, I cleaned my office last weekend, discarded and shredded needless amount of paper. but guess what I found, my log in title and password on a sheet of paper entitled IMPORTANT PASSWORD. Now that's funny. I am following the forum on twitter and linkedin.
  3. In continuing my investigation, here is what I found 1. They have lost there IATA standing, those of you in the travel business knows what this means, ""VERY IMPORTANT STANDING"" 2. The states of Florida and California Attorney Generals has cases against this company. 3. This company has restructed itself numerous times. 4. Clients are not being dealt with honestly. 5. The most revenue being made in this company is not through their stocks but by their pyramid scheme. oh MLM, go figure 6. Royal Caribbean cruises will no longer accept their booking because of their practice. And recent reports indicate that a lot more cruise lines, airlines, hotels and whatever else is affiliated with the travel industry is about to follow the path of Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. I did my search by internet and then made phone calls. Need I say more. Phyllis L
  4. My most active networks. TWITTERS MY BLOG LINKINED Please visit, would like to hear from forum members. Thank you.
  5. Can anyone in this forum tell me if they have heard about this Travel company. YTB Travel. Some one is trying to intoduce this company as a potential business opportunity. But for some reason a red flag when up and with my investigation skill, I started investigating. I found that the con's has out weigh the pro's. I will contact this person and tell what I have found and that I can't join anything that looks and feels like a pyramid sceme. Another thing that made my red flag wave was the people that are asked to joined are not trained for this, nor is training offered. Like I said before, I have investigated this company and found it has been on the News and negative reporting was genurated; dealing with not providing the services that they advertise and the agents disappearing on their clientele. My business reputation is flawless by my standards, I don't need a service being offered through another company to ruin it. My answer is NO!!!! Have anyone on this forum that's connected with the travel industry heard of this company. Thank You Phyllis L

  7. I had an interview with a prospective client, that ask me if I knew about or have I ever worked for Elance. From the interview I think he didn't have a pleasant time with them. I decide to check them out and also join. I joined for free, of cause, and found if you wanted your business, college, experience references to be verify it would cost you the VA (providers) $15.00 for each, and I listed everything; do you know how much money that was after I added it up. Because I joined for free, I could only bid on 2 job each month. But it gets better, I tried taking the test that's administered after you join and the test would not download to my computer, I have 2 desktop and it wouldn't download to either one. They're checking out their system. Futher checking revealed that, the VA (providers) pay to get the job and have to give a precentages of the money made to Elance. Most of the VA bidding sometime starts as low as $6.00 an hour and they're from over sea countries. If I was to list my bidding price I would not get any work at all. In my opinion, if your a VA Business owner you could benefit from this service; but if you looking for work be prepared to under bid your for hour pricing. Phyllis
  8. Hello I have subcontracted work before; I am in contact with my sub daily. If I don't receive an email or a phone call daily, I am questioning the sub on why and how come. Since I am paying the sub to do work, I require a weekly time sheet and notification if more hours are need to complete a project. If the project is not completed in the alloted time, I would either pull the project from the sub, pay them for the time their have used, completed the project myself or have the sub complete the project within a time frame. I usually work with sub that are full time VA or if the sub is recommended by another VA. Hope this helps. Phyllis L
  9. Hello Everyone I have been using Ring central for 2 months, the first month was free. I am having a ball with it, I have uploaded my own hold music ( I love jazz) and I have forward my Vonage phone thru my Ring Central 800 number and I have created the illusion of a Fortune 500 company. Other great thing is the extensions, I have sub divided my services and I have given each it's own extension. Oh boy does it help, when Ring central rings and if the caller have enter the extension number, I pick up the phone announcing the extension name. How great is that. I am loving it. 10. Hello Everyone I have a new client that owns and operates a beauty salon. She hired me to organize her clients profiles and schedules her client appointments. She can't answer her phone during business hours because she is just too busy. That's where I come in. I need a interchangeable software that can mirror my scheduling her appointments from my office and enabling her to see the changes or additions to her scheduling during the course of the day. Any suggestions.
  11. Hello It seems to me, if this client needs your address to do his business then there is somethng rotten in the cotten. What's the saying, you should go with your intuition. If feels bad then it is bad. Phyllis L
  12. Hello Everyone After writing about my niche last week, I starting search on the web and research about becoming a Licensed Private Investigator. Well let me tell you, this was a great IDEA ., I found out, that not a lot of females are private investigators. It's a mostly male dominated field. This I don't understand. In my Law enforcement career, my first partner was a male; my second was a female, now with my female partner we were tested everyday by male bad guy's and we passed the test everytime, I completed 20 years and retired. I enjoyed my job, in that career each situation is different no two are the same. It keep you on your toes. Private investigation is little different, this give you the right to pry without a warrant but not to invade privacy. You an also get access to certain info with your licensed. I will only investigate Businesses and potiential clients for my clients, but the most important thing is that I will be LICENSE. It will take 2 years to be fully qualified, but with my law Enforcement backgroud that should be cut in half. I will be licensed in all 50 states. I will keep you posted. Who knows, I might just be the first VA with a PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR LICENSE, hip hip hooray Phyllis L
  13. Hi Dave I perform internet research also, welcome. I sometimes outsource my work. When u are established and your work load is a lot, outsourcing/subcontracting is the way to go. I believe you should never turn away a potential client. Phyllis CEO/FOUNDER Uniquely40
