  1. Hi! I would like to invite all VA's from the London/Sarnia/Windsor area in Ontario to a special luncheon on March 19th for the CVAC 5th Anniversary Event. I have yet to make reservations or set a time, so I am open to suggestions. If you are interested in getting together with me for this event please contact me soon so I can get this setup. Please email me at info@AdministrativeEssentials.com before March 16th and let me know if you will be joining in the celebration so I can make the reservations. I hope to see everyone from this area at this event and getting to know each one a little better.
  2. Kimmer, Thanks so much for completing the survey! I am hoping to have all the results compiled by the end of next week and will post them for those interested in seeing them. This year the conference will be held in Toronto, ON and is a 2 day event! We look forward to seeing and meeting everyone there next Fall. We would like to thank you for offering to help with planning of the conference and we need all the help we can get. I apologize for having the emails bounce back to but my host had hit the quota and I never knew. I am hoping that I did not lose to many important emails. If you are interested I would be glad to send you an email with the different opportunities available. Thank you so much April for responding quickly, it is very much appreciated. I just need to find a balance and become more organized. Thanks again to everyone who completed the survey, we look forward to providing the best conference in Canada for our industry!

  4. We are busy preparing the conference in Canada. We look forward to seeing and interacting with you. One of the important functions of the conference is to address your specific questions, issues, and concerns as they relate to products, services, and the conference itself. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey once again and share your ideas and insights. Your answers will enable us to develop a conference program best suited to meet your needs. This survey should only take you 5 minutes or less to complete and only has 24 questions. Please click here to take the survey! If you have already filed out the survey that was sent out in September you are not required to fill it out again. If however, you filed the survey out in July please re-submit your survey. To show our appreciation for your time, everyone who completes a survey will be entered to win a free admission pass into the conference! One winner will be drawn on September 30, 2006 - please be sure to have the survey completed prior to September 30, 2006. We look forward to seeing you there and GOOD LUCK! Please click here for the survey! We also encourage the professionals across the globe to fill out the survey as well if they have an interest to attend in Canada! Thanks,

  6. Hello, I want to personally thank each and every VA who took the time to complete the survey for a Canadian VA Conference. I have closed the survey and have the results..... 73 respondents completed surveys 71 INTERESTED IN ATTENDING 2 NOT INTERESTED To me this is a positive number and hopefully will continue to grow after starting hold them. I am going to try to make this conference tailored to the results I have received and what everyone would like to see done. I also want to thank those who have offered to volunteer with setting up and organizing this for their fellow VA's. I am still in need of volunteers in various areas, so if you have time to offer services please contact me for further details. Once again, thank you to each and everyone of you!
  7. Good morning fellow VAs About a week ago I sent through an email to CVAC to volunteer with the events committee. Well I received an exciting email yesterday asking if I would accept the position of CHAIRPERSON. I am very honored to have received this recognition for me and my business. I would like to thank everyone for assisting me getting to where I am today with my business. I am so excited to get started, can not wait until I receive my first tasks!
  8. Our next meeting is actually set for May 24th, 2006 down in Chatham at 12:00 PM. If you are interested in attending this meeting please email Yvonne Weld at yvonne@ableva.com Thanks and look forward to seeing you there!
  9. Good morning fellow VA's I am stuck on a bookkeeping question. My husband has opened his own duct cleaning business and I need to get the bookkeeping done for this. I have done the chart of accounts; however, I am not sure what to put our Inventory under. For example, this inventory is our own equpiment we use to provide the service, and it not for purchase. Please help me on this situation if you know. Thanks in advance,
  10. Calling all South Western Ontario VA's. We will be hosting our first meet and greet Virtual Assistant network meeting on March 31, 2006 at 12:00 pm. There is no cost for this event except your food, beverages, and gratuity. This will be a monthly network event and would love to have others join us. We will be featuring speakers/presentations every now and then to help us promote our business as well as the VA industry. This is a great opportunity for VA's in South Western Ontario. If your interested in attending our network, please RVSP to Yvonne Weld by email at yvonne@ableva.com or calling 519-652-0914. We hope you can join us for a chance to network with other VA's in the area and learn more about the industry.
  11. I am completing my bookkeeping by hand and I need to know if I need to use an account for 'discounts'. I offer retainer packages with a discount so I need to know what category it would fall under and how do I enter it in. I also, over Christmas, offered Santa Letters. I am wondering how I would input this into my bookkeeping. Would I classify it under Services or Sales? Also I offered a discount to certain customers who seen the advertisements. do I enter these under the same category for discounts up above? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  12. Kali, Thanks, that information would be ideal to have. If you don't mind could you send me that to contact@administrativeessentials.com. Thanks again for the input. I am sure I will come up with more.
  13. Hello fellow VA's: I am writing because I am trying to get bookkeeping down even better, but I am actually stuck. I am wondering if anyone here would be generous enough to fill me in with every chart of accounts they use in their VA practice. If no one is interested in sharing this information with me, could you help me define which account title the following would fall under. 1) Ink Cartridge Refills 2) Briefcase 3) Annual Membership Fees 4) Chamber Expenses I may have more but that is just the start. Please help, I am not that good with keeping my books but don't have the funds to outsource just yet. I have the basic bookkeeping knowledge but am very open to learn more information. Thanks in advance!
  14. I am in the process of reviewing income tax information based in Canada. I have a few questions that I would like to ask and if anyone knows please help. Being self employed, do I have to fill out "Statement of Professional Activities". "Statement of Business Activities", or both? Also since I only started my business at the beginning of October, do I need to file taxes now or do I wait until October 2006? I am still researching all this information but I just can not find the answers I need. I really hate tax time and all the bookkeeping end so I am sure I will have many more questions. If anyone is in Canada (Ontario) and could help me with these problems, that would be great.
